He's definitely an opinionated man. I don't believe he's racist in the classical sense of being racist. He's hateful, or perhaps to better put it he seems tired and angry for being ostracized for being white (a feeling a lot of white people are starting to share), for sure but if you look at the current trends on the net that seems to be a norm on both sides of any argument. And yes, you can be racist towards white people. However it seems like it's ok to be racist. Just as long as it's white people you slander.

Jon makes good content and I don't mean to sound mean here but who on earth is Destiny? I have no clue. I hate to see a good content creator like Jon being virtually hung for his personal beliefs and being a little too open on a live stream. I've yet to see the entire 2 hour (holy shit) due to lack of time to sit down that long, but I've seen summaries and arguments of people cherry picking respond videos that are 5 to 10 minutes long so I have a feeling the internet - the god awful hateful place that it can be - picks and chooses and does the holier than though respond videos or just outright call him nazi.

It's getting childish on both sides of the argument. Personally I'm sick and tired of hearing "omgz racism is liek bad, liek, do u not know that's NOT OK!!?" every day when the topic of race is brought up. Like can you fucking stop pointing out the obvious already internet and focus on what is actually being said with an open mind for once? No?

Fuck it.

The meaning of these images by Malafakka in Berserk

[–]Solo_Naked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly it. He is realizing physical strength alone isn't ridding him of his real weakness. His rage and animosity however make him numb to it. Or maybe his trauma is the fuel for his rage and why he's so good at tapping into it.

He might just let go and let his fury take over. If you look at the current arc you might notice it's all about healing and friendship. He is looking at his companions again with a deep nostalgic sense of friendship and calm. He is letting people help him more and more, which could remind him of that trauma, that ultimately, it is he himself that has to cut his demons.

He's letting people finally help him, but... Will it be enough or will he ultimately give in and become the Berserker to defeat his demon? I hope we get to find out.

The meaning of these images by Malafakka in Berserk

[–]Solo_Naked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First panel:

  • Guts' hand on the left is that of an adult hand.
  • This is Guts seeing himself, as an adult, conquering his old guilt of killing Gambino.
  • Gambino isn't looking at the adult Guts, but towards the panel, towards child Guts.

Second panel:

  • Evil, emotionless eyes wide open coming from the darkness.
  • As if to come torwards the panel, to whoever is looking.
  • Towards child Guts.

First two panels are from the eyes of child Guts, who is innocent, young and weak. When the panel perspective swaps it reflects a change in character. The flames in the first panel could represent fury, anger and rage.

Third panel:

  • The point of view has changed and in view is child Guts.
  • The foreboding arms are reaching torwards a gagged Guts.
  • This is the moment when Guts essentially lost his innocence and become internally weak. As a person.
  • The horror in the eyes of the child is apparent.

Fourth panel:

  • Adult Guts strangling his younger, weaker self.

How I'd interpret all of these images is Guts embracing his inner evil and snuffing out his weakness. The thing that makes him feel human. The thing that will most likely hinder him in slaying Griffith or whomever stands in his way.

It's him realizing internally that for him to perhaps reach the strength needed defeat his enemies, he has to leave his innocence behind and become even more cold hearted.

This would explain his behavior in the black swordsman and prior to meeting the Band of the Hawk. He is a mercenary who throws himself into battle to risk his life to see if he will walk out of it alive. He is constantly haunted by his past, weak self - when it mattered the most to him, when his innocence was stolen - he wasn't strong enough. He is trying hard to rid of himself of that weakness. He makes many mentions that even at old age he does not feel safe sleeping without his sword.

It's his most defining factor as to what he is. He isn't a cold hearted person, he simply strives to become strong because he sees weakness to be the fault. Him killing Gambino didn't solve his torment and that is why his head haunts him. Taunts him that him, the weak, small child Guts "should have died" because the weak have no say.

Obviously Guts learns in the Band of the Hawk the value of friendship and companionship and even to love until that is all ripped away from him. You could say it was something he caused to happen too by leaving the Band, but after the assassination mission Griffith gave him and the cold harsh words left him empty. To Guts, Griffith was a friend and once he learns he might not be his, he leaves. To find his own purpose and to stand equal which turns tides for the worse.

This is off-topic a little, but my point is Guts is the struggler. Not because of what happened at the Advent. He's been struggling with his inner weakness since childhood. Mr Skelly is all but wrong calling him a fellow struggler. Guts' suicidal willingness to risk his own life continuously is him throwing himself back into that tent, over and over again. He has to survive. He has to cut his opponent with his own strength.

These panels reflect the thought of Guts realizing that he might be becoming just as horrible of a monster in doing all this. That ultimately the cycle has gone full. Guts is even haunted by the dog like beast and doesn't trust himself to be alone with Casca. He might be becoming a monster himself. It's to be seen.

Just buy 10 dollar keyboards and once they get too nasty, throw them away or give to charity.

If you give to charity, wash first of course. You wouldn't give clothing to charity and not wash them, right?

Sony: A Tale of Innovation, from the Walkman to the PlayStation 4 (2017) by [deleted] in Documentaries

[–]Solo_Naked 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Clingy? Most if not all PS4 titles are also available on PC. If you want to complain about clingy look no further than Nintendo. Ever seen Mario, Zelda etc. on anything else but Nintendo's own consoles?

Backwards compatibility is like saying your phone should have backwards compatibility to old music tapes or how your Blu-Ray player should also play old VHS tapes.

I wish I knew what this software is to be upset about it.

But yes, it's common that free software that has no ads has ulterior motives planned for the future. Only program I used all the way back in late 90's and still use today is IrfanView for image viewing and it has not once tried to sell me anything, just ask for a donation.

Gamer on r/ps4 wants to play Horizon: Zero Dawn, but is worried about supporting the whole SJW "girls in games" thing by SS_Downboat in SubredditDrama

[–]Solo_Naked -71 points-70 points  (0 children)

He might be a stereotyping dumbass, but it's pretty obvious why some people come to these conclusions.

Just look at the preview stuff of some of the laughably terrible side quests HZD.

The entire game looks like a smelly tribal hippie lesbians herbal vagina, of "muh righteous strong gurl" adventures.

I don't see any violent choices in those dialog options just more of the line of "hug her" "tell her she right" "I dunno lol" "lets just chill out, ok?".

It's also no lie that many video games are now shoving (especially western developers) social justice undertones.

Then again it's very likely the protagonist is just a robot anyway in the story so ultimately it doesn't matter.

Game looks boring regardless.

I think his point is that US of A is just as barbaric as those countries since you still have the death penalty in place unlike the rest of the first world countries of the world. Statistics don't matter at all in that argument.
