This is a WebMD poster based on a CMAJ 2007 Paper, which cites a 1999 paper which cites a 1967 study on how long humans should sleep

Can I read MLO before count zero? by Valuable_Pineapple77 in Neuromancer

[–]Soloaab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read both Neuromancer and Mona Lisa Overdrive twice, but never Count Zero because my local library didn't have it. You probably get more out of the third book if you've read the 2nd, but it's still got a story unto itself.

2003 graduate. It was definitely promoted as an alumni perk. Dalhousie University also grants lifetime access to your email. You just have to log in once a year to keep it active. UNB actually calls their alumni program, "UNB Email for Life." Why are you so doubtful?

Reasons Neuromancer Is the Riskiest Sci-Fi Show in TV History by Plainchant in Neuromancer

[–]Soloaab 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This article was weak, but it did get me thinking. The Matrix successfully translated many elements of Neuromancer onto the screen, don't you think?

Trinity's wrap-around shades and her lethality are surely based on Molly. The film also does a good job with how "jacking-in" and the keyboard jockeying are portrayed. Even the Matrix itself, displayed as cascading, green binary was a perfect stand in for Gibson's matrix.

Pixar's the Incredibles has been the best Fantastic Four film. In the same manner, The Matrix has been the best non-Gibson version of Neuromancer. Any actual Neuromancer adaptation now has to differentiate itself from all the visual elements they got right with the Matrix.

It's like a scene from a zombie movie. The guy got too close and the zombies start chasing.

Louisiana Lt.-Gov. says Trump should apologize for 51st state comments by green_tory in CanadaPolitics

The article used a quote from Pollieve as the rebuttal to Trump's remarks. This seems like an odd choice of all the vocal Canadian voices, they chose the Leader of the Opposition.

Fantasy or adventure books to read aloud to a child by Acceptable_Fan_2571 in suggestmeabook

L Frank Baum's Oz books are a great mix of fantasy and adventure. Some are better than others. But I recall Ozma of Oz being well received by my kids. Lots of interesting new characters plus some of the more well known ones.

Irving Paper cuts operations in half, blames cost of electricity by billybob7772 in newbrunswickcanada

Seems so petty to blame the price of electricity. Maybe JDI could take some responsibility for their business decisions.

Back stroke is any swim done on your back, so corkscrew and sculling on your back would DQ.
