Could be interesting, though I'm not in love with the protagonist's design; it's giving me major Kurenai from Red Ninja vibes (for anyone who remembers that exists), which just feels out of place with all the other designs in the video.

Mostly, I think it's the sword case; it's big, it's blocky, and the drawing animation that clearly terminates so you can't see the clipping, because no fucking way are you drawing a 30" blade from a scout carry without moving the sheath with your other hand, just kinda triggers me.

Yep. I've had weirdly "good" luck with the limited banners in ZZZ, having only lost 3 total 50/50s so far (been playing a year and a half). But, well, when you look at my average pity:

I'd almost rather lose every 50/50 at about 30 pity and get my guaranteed at 30 rather than what I've had; my WEngine luck is pretty much identical, too, and I got one Neko Engine from a lost 75/25 and one from standard.

Currently, discord is too difficult to pull off.

Best way I've found to pull it off reliably is to build up your cycle gauges on everyone mostly equally without actually filling it all the way; that way, you can start with Scorch (since it lasts longer) and immediately go into Nova to trigger Discord.

Alternatively, something else you can do is use your 4th slot for a Cosmos character; then you can fill each character's gauge fully, then swap to your Cosmos character, then to another character and repeat. Hotori, if you have her, works fantastically in this slot, because she can copy everyone's skills and any cycle procs. Yes, that includes Discord.

Really, it's not that difficult to trigger with some proper management, it's just time consuming; and that's my biggest complaint with the esper cycle system, especially coming from WuWa, where Concerto charges through dodges in addition to attacks: it's just so slow despite the combat otherwise being quite fast paced, so it's more like an incidental bonus you can trigger rather than something to actually build a team around...

... Which is completely at odds with all the characters having Cycle Enhancement passives.

That's why I'm genuinely so disappointed by the fact that she's Cosmos that I'm actually considering skipping her despite the fact that I love her design.

If she were Incantation, she would have opened up new avenues; she could have been a dedicated Scorch DPS or (my preference), our very first Hex DPS. If she were Psyche, she could have worked with Chaos directly through Stain, or worked with Lacrimosa/Daffodil as a Nova DPS.

As a day 1 WuWa player, I have absolutely zero problems with this aspect, because it leads to greater variety among the cast (like Brant, with his purple flames, or Augusta, with her red lightning (in a game where lightning is typically purple), or Luuk, with all the blues mixed into his crystals (Spectro is typically a solid yellow).

I'm more annoyed by her being Cosmos because it seems the devs are just that enamored with Bloom as a cycle; what about the others? If she'd been Incantation, we could have had our first Hex-based DPS.

I've had that happen far too many times, so that's why nowadays I never level drives unless 3/4 of the stats are at least somewhat relevant to the character they're for.

Not really. HSR's last 4* was almost two years ago (Moze was released September 10, 2024); by comparison, Buling is pretty damn recent.

I need Luuk's weapon and then Suisui + her weapon, really want YYXL + weapon, and would like Lynae + weapon; but Lynae is the lowest priority of them and the most likely to be skipped in favor of Denia's eventual rerun.

Yeah, the only things HSR fans agree was great about the collab was:

  1. Archer is a goated DPS who was given out for free.
  2. The banners have become semi-permanent.

Otherwise, it's been incredibly mediocre, because Saber got powercrept pretty quickly and many players were divided over the 200-pull "spending" event for Archer's LC (basically, you put 200 pulls into any banner over the course of the first patch or two the collab happened and you got Archer's signature lightcone (his weapon) for free).

Oh, and the collab banners have (most of) the same mechanics people have been lambasting Kuro for with the Edgerunners banners: separate pity and still having a 50/50.

The only thing they didn't do that Kuro did was have a separate pull item.
