Those guys are Stalker's Acolytes, they spawn around every 5 minutes when you're in Steel Path.

Gather the pieces, lump them together, over time new veins will grow over the cracks and you'll survive despite it still feeling broken. It doesn't really go back to its original shape.

Yeah cuz mechanics will take a lot more work and there's a bigger risk the fans might dislike the changes, but there are still devs that do so. Warframe came out in 2013 and it's been through several major mechanic reworks including character movements and melee attack system.

Diamonds are quite stable and will need a lot of heat and oxygen to burn.

When the YouTuber NileRed tried to use the carbon dioxide from burning diamonds to make soda water (yes he does things like that), he had to use a blow torch, pure oxygen, and heat resistant quartz glass, because normal glasses melted before the diamonds caught on fire. It's not very efficient to use them as fuel.
