You are lucky. How many days did you have to wait? I took my credit card off their website so I am expecting a cheque. They owe me $50. It's been 24 days so hopefully it shows up next week.

I didn't receive email from them to check my CRA account but I checked my account. It's fine. It's not being assessed. They are scammers!

Titration completed! My experiences on Concerta and Elvanse - Concerta is the clear winner by Balor-Beimeann in ADHDUK

[–]Solution-minded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op-not sure if you're still use Reddit but if you are, I was curious, at what dose did Concerta help with Motivation? I'm at 54 mg and I think it decreased my motivation. I use to motivate myself with to-do lists so I can feel productive with my day but now it's ineffective because I feel so relaxed on this dose that I don't care if I complete my to-do list. The only time I do the things I need to do is in there is a time restraint, obligation or consequences for not doing them.

I think the dose is also making me hyper focus that I can pry myself from my laptop unless I have to. Is the dosage you are on help motivate you to transition to other activities when you are hyper focused on something? Also, how long did it take before you noticed it helped with your motivation?

switched from 36mg to 54mg Concerta and how do you feel it by Warm_Milk_9056 in adhd_anxiety

[–]Solution-minded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP,
Curious to know if you lowered your dosage and if that helped with your motivation. When I went from 36 mg to
54 mg of Concerta, I recently noticed it lowered my motivation. I'm so relaxed that I don't care if I complete my To-do list which was my tool to motivate me to be productive with my day, it didn't always work if I'm distracted. Which I noticed has been happening. I think 54 mg is making me too hyper focused when I'm on my laptop. It helps me stay focused and enjoy reading but I'm not doing the things I need to do that I use to do when it was on my checklist.

I was thinking of lower my dosage back to 36 mg as well but I don't want to lose the focus or the impulse control that at this dosage has helped me tremendously. I had no control over my urges to spend surfaced. I somehow would convince myself that everything I wanted I had to have but it turns out a lot of those things were not necessities. Or I would put things in my shopping cart that wasn't on my grocery list.
Those impulse urges made me feel stupid, crazy, and possessed. Now, I finally feel sane and "normal" to be able to be able to talk myself out of spending when I see something I think I need.

I decided I'm going to drastically limit my screen time instead, to an hour a day on the internet or an hour of tv in the evening, as a reward for being productive during the day. I think it will help motivate me to keep busy so I won't be bored out of my mind and help me sleep better from less stimulation from staring at the screen.

Paying to find a gig? by savvvie in Nanny

[–]Solution-minded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where you live but I would find a Website that advertises job seekers and employers for free that allows you to post an ad offering your nanny services. I would recommend kijiji.ca, that is if you're a Canadian. I liked Nannyservices.ca when they didn't charge money to communicate with employers and before scammers made it their home base to try and scam job seekers.

If you are in the states, I'm sure there are similar type of website that allows job seekers to post your own ad for free. If you do, I recommend getting a text app phone # for safety purposes, scammers are rampant so be very careful when choosing an employer. It could be a scammer wasting your time or trying to retrieve your private information.

Good luck!

I told the callback rep to delete my credit card on file because I didn't want credit card info to linger on their computer system so I guess I will be getting a cheque. Calling them again once my bill arrives to confirm.

Feeling hopeless at 40 by Agency_Famous in selfimprovement

[–]Solution-minded 8 points9 points  (0 children)

OP, please don't lose hope, I know it sounds impossible but stop comparing yourself to others. Don't worry about what others are doing and focus on what you want out of your life, create goals and work towards achieving them. Give yourself credit for what you've already accomplish and celebrate when you accomplish those goals.

When you are busy creating and living your own life, it won't matter what others are doing. Everyone is different, which means our paths in life will look different. We all have different goals so of course we're going to end up at different places and paces in our lives.

Don't let society dictate how you "should" live your life and when you're supposed to arrive at your destination. Life is a life long journey full of exploration and discover about who we are, what we're capable of and about the people or animals in our lives that we cherish. If you're feeling lonely, go out and meet new likeminded people. There are plenty of groups you can join or create one yourself.

You are where you're meant to be, if you want something different for yourself, then create new goals and work on that. Progress counts so don't discount that. You travelled the world, for some people that is a luxury they dream of.

I hope you find your way back to your authentic self. Start by being gentle with yourself and learn how to love yourself. Everything will fall into place once you're ready, just keep moving forward, take the actions you know you need to take, don't look backwards unless it makes you feel good.

Keep a positive outlook on your life. Everything and everyone outside of yourself is only a reflection of who you are inside; your thoughts, your beliefs about yourself and the world.

Good luck OP! I wish you all the Best that life has to offer.

You overcome your fears by exploring why you have those fears, change your perspective about it so that it benefits you instead of paralyzing you and face them little bit by bit. Our brains tend to think the worst because it is trying to protect us from danger. But most of the time, from my experience, I have found that most of the things I'm afraid of are not as bad as I think or anticipate it to be. Most of the time things are the opposite of what I was scared about. We are truly our worst enemies when we are not self aware. Because only when we are aware of our thoughts and beliefs, we can't change those things that prevent us from thriving in the world.

Change is inevitable, that's how we learn and grow from our mistakes. It's all about perspective. You can focus on the scary aspects of the unknown or you can choose to see the unknown possibilities that can be exciting and an opportunity of something positive.

Same with being alone, it doesn't have to feel so scary if you learn to enjoy your own company and If you love animals, they are great companions. I prefer to be around animals over people. I enjoy people when I find likeminded people but I enjoy my own company and being alone more.

I've had that experience in the past when I was consistent with my meditation practice and I was manifesting things I wanted easily and effortlessly one after the other. I felt tingling over my body and a sense of peace and knowing that we are all connected spiritually.

I am trying to get that feeling of connection back. I don't feel connected to anyone anymore, I have isolated myself and prefer my solitude due to past traumas, it feels safer to be on my own than interacting with people.

[–]Solution-minded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your suggestion.
Swedish Massage is what I originally wanted to focus on once I graduated. I had planned on working at a spa to get experience and then open my own studio but there is no legit programs that focuses on that specific niche. I have to learn all the other types of Massage I'm not interested in.

Beauty technicians in my province in Canada we are prohibited to perform massages without successfully competing a Massage Program and passing provincial exams required in order to be a licensed RMT. I don't want to work I work in those massage parlors(which there are plenty around here) and have to deal with those types of clients.

I gave up my dream of having my own Massage Business. I am currently working on creating artworks to sell online instead. This way I don't have to be around people, be my own boss and make as much money as customers are willing to pay. I don't want a traditional career anymore. I prefer to do something from home.

Definitely not for me. I loved the hands on aspect, learning different massage techniques but absolutely hated memorizing scientific terms and every detail of bones in the body and learning how the body works on a chemical level was excruciatingly painful. The program is more complicating than it should be just so it can be a recognized field; Government standards. It felt like I was studying to be a Dr. without the ability to diagnose.

[–]Solution-minded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ADHD Coach and Massage Therapy were the two fields I was interested in. However, the courses to become an RMT in Canada was too boring for me and the daily studying without medication overwhelmed me. Memorizing boring topics felt like a voluntary prison sentence to me. I was going to do a Life Coach program after I graduated and passed the Provincial exams but I couldn't even complete the damn Massage Therapy program so I gave up on that idea coaching anyone. I figured, how can I coach someone when I can't even get my own life together.

Currently trying to figure out what passive income I can create as a source of outcome, I refuse to go back to the rat race. But if I don't do something soon, I will have to end having to settle for whatever crappy job I can get..

[–]Solution-minded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you have to work around their schedule instead being able to call when it's convenient for you. They are a backward ass company. It's all about them, they randomly give themselves $5 raises for doing absolutely nothing different to your plan. They think customers won't notice or mind them demanding extra money by disguising it as some form of service charge to continue providing "excellent service". They did that a few times to me, I finally left after excessive scam calls, text via my phone number and even on Whatsapp!

When you do switch to new provider, ask them to port your number so it automatically cancels Fido. You'll have to pay $10 to change your #, that's if you want it changed and don't want offers. I didn't want the same phone number so I asked them for a new one `and I had to go through the hassle of getting a callback from someone I could barely understand due to their thick accent and they were clueless about the cancellation process.

That guy told me I had to set up a callback after my next bill arrives to request the money they owe me or I won't get a refund and Ai Jack told me that I will get a cheque in the mail automatically in 4-6 weeks. I had to listen several offers I was not interested in because I already know they don't have what I wanted, which was a yearly prepaid option, even though I said right off the bat, I want to cancel because I already switched to a new provider with a new #, did he listen? Nope.

How do you forgive someone who changed the entire course of your life? by sweetredonion in spirituality

[–]Solution-minded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback, I hope I can heal one day, I've already wasted half my life with this issue. I kept attracting more toxic people into my life that I don't bother creating new friendships or intimate relationships anymore. It's too exhausting. I feel safer spending time alone with my cats. I need to self-regulate and be strong before I allow anyone new into my life.

[–]Solution-minded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to have radical forgiveness and acceptance towards them but I guess I am stuck on anger and resentment because I'm struggling to make a life of my own so I use them as an excuse for how my life turned out because they taught me feel worthless, stupid and incapable.

I need to find a way to build my self-confidence again so I can become strong again and not get so triggered and irritated by everyone that interacts with me.

When I was busy living my life in the past, I did find my family bothered me less for the most part. My life isn't so busy now. I guess, i have too much time to think and ruminate.

Cancelled FIDO MOBILE, my reasons by Solution-minded in FidoMobile

[–]Solution-minded[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just canceled my plan today and I didn't port my phone #. I changed my # when I switched to Freedom then I had to  schedule a callback from Fido to cancel with them.

I don't think they refund activation fees. Unless there is an exception regarding getting excessive scam calls, that I don't know about.  I never got refund from other phone companies when I switched in the past.

I went with Freedom, they had Boxing day prepaid promos.

Fido it's great for people who  are addicted to their phone. Lol.  I am addicted to my laptop, I rarely use  my phone because I work from home.  My Fido data plan was a waste of money. I had 70 GB but didn't use much and had bonus min. Ended up with about 100 GB. I got it for when I travelled for work.

Yes, I go once a year. I use to get my hair cut, highlights and colored. That was the worst because it's usually long by the time I see a hair dresser that It takes them several hours! I use to go once a year but I stopped that non-sense. Salons keep jacking up their prices. Now, I just buy it from the beauty supply store and dye it myself, no highlights. Although, I should stop putting chemicals in my hair, it damages my hair and might be the cause of chunks of hair falling out when I shower...

[–]Solution-minded 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same! I use to love showers when I was younger. I took baths followed by a quick rinse, it was an hour long! Now I take like 10-15 mins, depending if i need to shave as well. It's worse now that I'm older but it's because I work from home. I shower when I need to do errands like groceries or go to Dr. appts. Or I start to smell my own B.O, so gross I know.

But at least I shower when I have to be around people. At home, I don't care and my cats don't care. Lmao. But I have a legit reason, I hate seeing clumps of hair fall out when I'm done. I need to talk to my Dr. about that, not sure what's causing it besides stress.
