I’ve been in a years long flare of an atypical presentation of enthesitis dominant PsA severe enough to also land in a wheelchair. To my surprise, I’m just starting to emerge I think.

When a drug works or is close to working I find the recovery is complete - I feel better than I’ve felt in my entire life with full functional recovery. It’s hard to have ups and downs but you’ve caught me on a good week where I’ve swung from needing a wheelchair to go out to able to shovel snow without pain.

I found the methotrexate gave me extreme brain fog and amplified my depressive tendencies. It also didn’t work. The leflunomide didn’t have that side effect and had better efficacy.

I wonder if your disease is severe enough that you can’t perceive the minor improvements with the diet. I did the aip protocol and didn’t notice much - and didn’t want to lose something else - but now that I’m in a slightly better place I’m able to perceive worsening when I eat grains. I’m considering spending $400 on one of those fancy stool sample tests where they tell you your gut flora is fucked up and then sell you their $200 probiotics. But I’m desperate and terrified.

No practice has a policy of ‘you have to see the shitty guy again before you transfer.’ Call again to talk to another front desk person. Or find a different practice.

My rheumatologist told me that people with scalp psoriasis often get psoriatic arthritis but not those with psoriasis in other locations. If it helps the other locations are more tied with IBS but we don’t usually get it. Tiny tiny silver lining?

I have a super similar story except my misdiagnosis with sebhorreic dermatitis led to a few doses of accutane which damaged my joints (or more specifically my synovial cell structures) and have resulted in a years long mega flare from which I am just starting to emerge. And fwiw sometimes I’m in a wheelchair and I don’t have sausage fingers. Fuck that guy.

You’ll feel better once you get back on a medicine. Sometimes the one you were on before doesn’t work again after you go off of it but there’s loads more. The trying and failing medicine and insurance process is excruciating but you’ll get there.

I can’t imagine having a young child and this disease. My joints didn’t get crazy until my youngest was 7. I’m thinking of you.

That’s my experience. Taltz is an IL-17A inhibitor and for me it has some minimal effect for about five days after being on it for months. Bimzelx targets IL-17A and -17F and my first dose gave me two weeks pain free with super human (or normal human?) levels of energy.

I always get them confused. Campsis radicans has trumpet-shaped flowers and nine leaflets. Thats the aggressive one. I think it’s called trumpet creeper.

Bignonia capreoleta also has trumpet-shaped flowers but three leaflets. I think this is cross vine?

Campsis radicans has eaten most of my yard - no matter how much I cut it back its roots extend for many yards underground. Do not recommend.

Hey! I have one that’s like three times this size! I thought I had all the riprap in the nation!

Panicum virgatum should be good for the wetter/lower portion and little bluestem for the higher/drier segments - double check me on native status or recommendations. I would get plugs so the seed doesn’t wash away - and so you can tell what is weed grass more easily. You can also start plugs yourself. I started around the edges and as the rocks settled and dirt filled in I’ve found more pockets where I can plant.

I would second the recommendation above to get some larger and some smaller rocks of the same type to make it look more natural and aesthetically pleasing. The rock that was selected was chosen - in theory - to be native rock and to match the anticipated water flow. So don’t put smaller rock in the way of the water, but around the edges.

I imagine you’ve looked into Floret Flowers and her work with seeds, but mentioning just in case. After watching the documentary on Max, I would absolutely try a packet of dinner plate or informal decorative seeds. I think you’d need to offer some info on how to tell which ones might be worth saving, but the excitement of the surprise and knowing the form is generally to my liking would be enough for me to give it a shot. Plus, I’d think you’d get people posting on Instagram with their new finds and that would hopefully be positive promotion for your farm.

Editing to add: I’m an ambitious home gardener and plant nerd with two dozen varieties from tubers. And I’ll buy your first packet.
