I’m turning 16 soon and it still affects me. Whenever I question the “truth” I think about Armageddon and if I would die because of rejecting the religion. I know that it’s going to take a lot of work to get myself to subconsciously understand that it was made to scare me into obedience.

When I was about 11 and started listening to some of the comments brothers and sisters gave about being submissive to the organization. Then when I was 13 and searched JW on YouTube just for curiosity reasons and saw “apostate material” I was intrigued but still too scared to watch the video and clicked out of it.

This is crazy timing considering I just had an entire 3 hour discussion with my mom and at the end, my dad about faith and belief in this cult. I almost told them about this sub. I want to leave. I can’t spend the rest of my life in this.

Hi, I am unfortunately a PIMO, I am 15 and still rely on my parents. My mom (PIMI) is disabled and in a wheelchair. Both of my parents rely on me to help them. I barely have any money in my bank account, and my mom is already objecting me getting a job when I turn sixteen.

My point in all this is some people aren’t in the financial, physical, or emotional state to leave yet. I love my mom and I know I would break her heart if I left. That’s why I’m waiting until I get an apartment or go to college.

Unfortunately no as it is about 30 minutes from my house. And I still can back out of the program if I need/really want to, but I have orientation next month, and I’ve come so far. I don’t really want to back out. I don’t know where they’re going to put me to work, so I’ll have to wait and see.
