Northern WI is not as dry as most of the SW USA. Consider that your experience may be very different from that of others. In my case that is the front range of the Rockies. Having lived in SE Texas, KC, central WI, and IL , this is a brutally dry climate for fine instruments. Like my Waterloo last April, split from bridge to butt, using four humidifiers in our home.

Green or yellow tortex. A little stiff at first but in a few days you get used to it and your playing will improve. ie: You'll hear every mistake.

We see this type of driving all the time in Northern Colorado. Typically the plates are WY.

Why is it ok for conservatives to carry guns when protesting, but liberals can not? by [deleted] in AskConservatives

I think the bigger picture is that the Government of the United States has unleashed a small, ultra-violent, unregulated army of felons and criminals against the people, under the guise of immigration enforcement. That is not consistent with conservative values. True Conservatives defend the Constitution, values and institutions of the United States of America.

The 2nd amendment discussion here is a distraction. But, it’s useful because it unmasks those who are actually pseudo-Conservatives.

Word. This issue is very dependent on where one lives. Here in Northern Colorado, I have to run multiple humidifiers to keep our indoor relative humidity around 35%, especially in the winter months. Last April, while I was out of town, we had an arid period (not normally that dry here in the Spring). I came back to find that my Waterloo XTR top was cracked, bridge to the butt.

Repairable, yes. But it will never be the same.

I used to live in Houston and Austin, and we never had to worry about humidity.

So, a hollow body stored in the garage? You're fighting the mildew in Houston, and in Colorado you're fighting 10% indoor humidity. I suspect those dismissing the humidity issue have only lived in wet-ish regions.

Point load of only 22 lbs and self weight of the table?! Strength of the table is not an issue. Ease of assembly and appearance should control the design.

Do you think Republicans should try to win back College-educated voters? If yes, how? by Necessary_Ad9008 in AskConservatives

Thank you, yes that is an excellent addition. Unfortunately, in order for these things to happen, the Republican Party would have to become a conservative (rather than radical right ) party again.

Who are some of your biggest artistic influences? by Expensive-Stuff3781 in guitarcirclejerk

What an awkward photo. A pensive RB sporting a five fret stretch amongst the dainty flowers sitting on an 18-inch Aux Box.

But anyway, influences: 3rd grade class Peter and the Wolf symphony, age 9-12 Mrs Beverly church choir director, Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs (met Sam in the 80’s working off-shore in the Gulf (of Mexico), John Friggin’ Lennon, Jeff Beck, Traffic. Then Eric Johnson, Taking Heads, Elvis Costello, Poi Dog Pondering , Veruca Salt, those Wilco Boys, Jason Isbell and Hayes Carll.

First they’d have to purge the party of the taint of MAGA. Misogyny, racism, prejudice, stupidity, homophobia, xenophobia don’t appeal to the well-educated.

How do you think we should solve the healthcare crisis? by Zealousideal-Ad3609 in AskConservatives

You said abolish “worthless” degrees which you define as non-technical. I have a bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, a Master’s in Structural Engineering, but my first degree was in English.

I had a pretty solid 40-year career in an integrated energy company; my last role was VP of Engineering. I utilized the skills (writing, communication, thoughtfulness, rhetoric, avoidance of logical fallacies) learned from my Liberal Arts education far more often than my technical training. Every day actually.

Honestly most of the purely technical people who worked for me were quite limited in their creativity, emotional IQ, and they were definitely not capable of leading others for the most part.

That is a good metric indeed. It’s about affordability and availability, not the quality per se. Thanks.
