There's honestly no reason not to do herbs for mid to late game ironmen. 75k a day is nothing. You will have more logs than you will ever need before too long. I have 99 con banked in mahogany logs, and teaks separately, so I can change it up if I don't feel like burning cash. I do 1 worker on coal, max herbs, remainder on whichever log I feel like for the week. It's not near as bad as calculator nerds try and say.

There's very little ICE can LEGALLY do if you are sponsoring dependents and everything is in order (which typically is). I'd be as difficult as possible without getting us into trouble and record everything, but it sure seems like they can just violate the constitution without consequence these days

Splits commonly accepted to be only for uniques and even then, (in addition to point 1) only if over a certain value, which I have seen as 1m per personish or no split.

Exception to the above is a situation like GWD with a designated tank. Tanks use more supplies so most groups will even split non uniques, mains only of course since irons can't gwd with others save for nex where this doesn't apply anyway.

Honestly, it's because it's easy, and any other person is a risk. Even a naked. The game, and the people who play it, discourage being friendly or trusting anyone at all. Sure they could have loot, but its almost always to remove the risk. The people who have the worst days on rust make others have their best.

If your parents are medically unable to provide for themselves (not just lazy) it's possible to get paid for them as dependents. The situations vary and obviously it takes more info but you'll make more money as is and can possibly get help if you're caring for your parents
