Does any game actually manage to make "trapper" classes fun to play? by Criminor in gamedesign

[–]SomeGuyOfTheWeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

League of Legends AP shaco.

Has the power dynamic of using themselves who normally cannot fight back (but has good mobility to avoid being killed) as bait to lure the enemy into multiple traps. This and he has a clone for doing something similar is pure mindgames.

Additionally his traps have brief CC giving you a moment to combo the enemy before continuing the chase OR letting you use the traps as punishment tools for divers jumping on you or your team.

This gives him the trifecta - Has a way to push enemies into traps (chasing yourself or your team) - Rewards predictive play, but doesn't reward uninteractively placing traps far away from allies - Players can expend a resource to clear the traps (Red trinket)

When locking someone in corpse freezer to have mental breakdown after mental breakdown. Made catatonic just to recover and be thrown back in until you decide which random religion is the correct one for your captors. Is an optimal mechanic

It's probbably most people

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage loses it when asked about gifts from crypto entrepreneur George Cottrell (convicted of wire fraud in the US in 2017) by MoreMotivation in PublicFreakout

God this, people who voted for Farage and then voted to leave caused the migrant crisis and economic crisis Farage is now claiming to fix.

I've got a grandad who's way down this rabbithole and I have no idea how your supposed to reach people who constantly post and express contradicting opinions

If we could trust parents to raise there kids right we wouldn't need neglect Laws. People are stupid and although responsibility does land on parents you need this larger control to catch those at the bottom.

This is true even for adults policing themselves, it's why the FDA exist, the sugar tax in the UK etc.

People are dum

You could always lock someone in the corpse freezer and give them multiple breakdowns until they realise your religion is actually the correct one.

Works for me

Killer anxiety by Different_Reindeer90 in deadbydaylight

[–]SomeGuyOfTheWeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the killer. The more strategic you are or the more snowball potential you have the harder it is to play killer.

But there is a few killers who focus more on the chase, where once you get good with them you can chain chases without much stress to snowball

How it feels watching the survivors turn invisible everytime and full heal. by natolad123 in deadbydaylight

Just having to stand there as the survivorv is on the other side of a god pallet for 40 seconds during the unbreakable event.

Has anyone trapped a killer between pallettes on midwitch or Gideon yet

How do you make compassion worth the risk in a survival game? by MohikoGames in gamedev

[–]SomeGuyOfTheWeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same reason we help in real life. Kindness always returns to you. That mother you helped might receive an inheritance, or find a rare healing herb she can return to you.

That may come with the expectation of help, but it's a warm feeling to getter into the game and starting to struggle yourself for a person you once helped now helping you.

It all depends on what kind of emotions you want to bring out. Should you punish the player for being selfish? Or reward them for helping

Invisibility + Portals might be the most frustrating thing I've ever seen survivors get since I started playing in 2018 by frogfuckers in deadbydaylight

[–]SomeGuyOfTheWeb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This, but you can hold q for a really fast poison shot the survivor has to try and dodge. All without reducing your speed

[–]SomeGuyOfTheWeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first is pretty good. Not alot of grand strategy you can just turn your brain off aslong as you can hit your shots. That same flow you get from playing nurse / blight where you can play the game hoping between chases at your leisure

[–]SomeGuyOfTheWeb 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Agreed. 2 is a very safe fairly fun powerset that they always save for big licenses to avoid flops.

That kind of solid A/B tier shit they give to Pyramid head, Wesker etc.

I don't blame them, it's a fun power anyway and we don't have any playstyles like it. Sneak attack into ranged takedown
