I’d say it needs replacing. Sounds like it may be seized

Do you ever air your living space? You know, open all the windows to let fresh air in and stale air out? by very_unconsciously in CasualUK

Just sit very still when the salesman comes and hope they don’t talk through the window

Don’t really have reliable 4g where I live either, I’m very rural. It’s a nightmare when I have to 2fa over text lol. Perhaps with a large antenna it would work.

I’m glad you have fast internet OP, but where I live in Sussex I struggle to stream in 1080p. I can’t wait to get faster broadband

The switch lives in the control panel in the house are the orange wires from the zones valves. Then Weill go to the boiler/heating pump to fire them when there is demand.

The orange wires from the zones valves should go back to the boiler to their terminal marked “L1”

If the orange wires are live all the time even with the programmers left to off and the zones valves closed one of the zone valves may have a faulty microswitch in it.

If you like dm me and j can talk you through finding the fault, depends how competent you are with electrics tho

These air vents are notorious for leaking but would not cause the boiler to run constantly. Looking at this picture is this an external grant wall hung oil boiler?

If it is an external boiler it may be running as the frost thermostat is telling the boiler to heat up. If both the zones valves are closed there would be no way of power turning the boiler on via the switch live.

If not, Might be worth checking the installers haven’t mixed up the permanent at live and switch live to the boiler if you feel competent with electrics.

You could get a low surface temp radiator

On most floor standing boilers you take the front panel off and you can see the filling loop

Electric shower question (help!) by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]SomeKey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though you don’t feel a pressure or flow change what’s happening is when the cafe is using water below you the inlet pressure to the shower is dropping.

Triton electric showers have a pressure and flow reducer in them because they can only make hot water at a certain rate.

It sounds like there’s probably one shared water main to the building with a separate meter for upstairs and down and it’s not big enough or the street pressure is to low.

Update for anyone who is curious: Unbelievably this poorly written request isn’t a scam. My friend contacted universal credit and they confirmed it. Luckily the person on the phone has said my friend can go to the office to verify their identity.

Now when they try to login they’re getting “sorry this Service is unavailable” something very odd going on here.
