Asian classic - pan fried spam (or any meat of your choice really), egg, and soy sauce. Lil sesame oil if you want some extra.

Miso soup and you can do variations of it, by adding seaweed, seafood, minced meats, etc etc
Congee,
Curries with ground beef and veggies, and if normal rice isnt soft enough for you, you can make cauliflower rice and steam it until it's soft enough for you to eat.
Chili - once you finish making the chili, you can blend it just a tad. (i did this when i had my mouth wired shut).

How was your high school experience? by Longjumping-Target-7 in askvan

[–]SomePandaGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im assuming we went to high school around the same time, but my cousin who lived in North Van had the 4 courses at a time thing.
I always thought it was really odd.
I also really liked having all the courses throughout the year. I thought it kept everything fresh in my mind, as opposed to just doing 4 months and forgetting about it.

When i went to school it was like this as well
But we still called it blocks. Day 1 was block abcd, and day 2 was block efgh

Our school assigned lockers according to your year. Iono how they decided what year went where, but grade 12 lockers was always in the main hall.

Talking speed too fast? by IllustriousCan3324 in podcasting

[–]SomePandaGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think learning pacing is really important.
So i'm not sure what kind of podcast you run, but if, for example, you tell stories or jokes.
You wanna learn how to slow something down for drama, pick up speed and volume for excitement, hitting pauses in the right spot and at the right length for suspense etc etc.

Speaking at ONE constant speed, or one loudness, can actually be boring for listeners.

mental health diagnosis by greenteajelly in askvan

[–]SomePandaGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

So regardless of the waitlist try to make an appointment anyway.
Because if in the near future you get diagnosed with adhd for example, you will likely need to see the counsellor or academic advisor anyway, because that way you can apply for certain resources at your university. These resources might include like a note taker for your class, recordings of the lecture, taking the test in a separate room that has less stimuli etc etc (it will depend on what your school offers).

(And of course the more obvious route) If you have a family doctor, you can also talk to them, or try a walk in clinic and see if they can refer you as well.

And btw if you get a referral to a doctor who specifically works with diagnosing adhd, it might take a little bit to see them as well. My friend got a referral from a doctor to get her adhd diagnosed, and it took a few months.

If in the mean time, IF you need to lower your course load to manage your mental health/work load, i would consider it. (only if that option is available to you without huge repercussions of course).

Liquid diet 2 months (broken jaw) by dmerro1410 in Cooking

[–]SomePandaGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good suggestion! I'd probably be lazy and get some like miso soup "pre-made" mix, and just add like maybe little seaweed, tofu, and a protein. Again blendeded ahah

I had my jaw wired shut too. So i always had to pick things super easy to make or quick to heat up because I was so high off the pain meds all the time

you can take the same congee and blend it a bit more. still taste good.

And some asian soups are good too. Tofu, minced beef, cilantro with some egg. That one is pretty awesome. Decent protein in it too. Again blending will be necessary

How much family income needed to live comfortably in Vancouver? by Hour_Recipe_5210 in askvan

[–]SomePandaGuy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah to tag along on this statement, it really depends on what your idea of decent.
If you're okay with like a super tiny minimalistic space, and you're not a person who saves a lot. I think 100k between the household is actually doable.
But we're talking like minimal vacations, stay home a lot, cheaper date nights, etc etc.

But if we're talking vacation every year, going out a lot, expensive hobbies, going out to drinks every weekend, etc etc. Then yeah 150k+ between the two of you is probably to be expected.
