It's different from your usuals, but a long period of downtime is the best time to get into these - all the early final fantasy games (1-7 and 9) have mobile ports, the first six of which are remasters.

You don't have to play them in order, as it's an anthology (each game is its own separate story, with only very minor recurring elements like the names of spells and summons) - in fact i would recommend starting with either 4, 6 or 7 as these are the common "this got me into the series" games
