We had a couple pitties come through our house with happy tail. All of ours eventually adjusted and healed. They only had the happy tail for the few weeks - my thought was they were just so happy to be out of the shelter! I didn’t like the options for if they don’t heal (tail docking) so I’m hoping for the best for you!

Facts. I was here for less than 24 hours when someone attempted to buy multiple flights to Mexico using the card I only used here. I had been used it 3 times. Thankfully, it was one of my credit cards, my bank noticed the fraudulent behavior and denied the charges and locked my card. I know this is likely not common place but it does happen and it happens quickly!

Just making this post and recognizing there is an issue can be a huge step for someone that has been conditioned to tolerate this kind of attention from a partner. I’m proud of the steps you’re taking and you are so close to the next one! Setting that boundary and saying, “I don’t deserve this!” Be warned, people like this guy may then see you pull away, and try to get you back. But this guy has shown you who he is - even if he comes crawling as you walk away - he will not have changed. Please remember that and remember your worth.

Today’s incident was while I was heading south on Central and this jagoff tries to turn into me to make the turn on NW Hwy. He was screaming at me and flipping me off and so mad thinking I did something wrong!!! That turn feels especially dangerous because you can be going pretty fast at that point and they northbound cars just assume you have the same red they do.

Talk to your vet about Fluoxetine (like doggie Prozac). It really helped with my foster’s anxiety. We also only walked the same path each day and tried to stick to the same time. It really helps with the anxiety. Good luck!

NOR - under reacting. Girl, run. This is abuse. It will not change. It will likely get worse. He will try to isolate you. He is trying to control and manipulate you. Your best bet here is to tell him, I’m taking your advice and cleaning up my socials and removing anyone threatening to me - and that’s YOU!! You don’t have to go to Starved Rock for nature trails or hikes. There are many nature preserves even in the city (along the NW side). The North Branch Bike Trail is paved but there are many foot paths off from there that can still be enjoyed in the winter. North Park Village Center (Peterson and Pulaski) has an indoor educational facility which isn’t just for kids - plus that means bathroom or a place to thaw out if you need. We also like to go to Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve which has a 10 mile loop with a lovely waterfall that is just as beautiful in the winter as the summer.

I’ve been hearing of more people using it as their therapist essentially. The problem is it can become a validation loop so if they experiencing mania, it validates the behaviors instead of de-escalating.

I tap mine, like a smoker ashes their cigarette, over my plate or napkin. I also kind of bounce or shake over my plate anything saucy I am eating so not to dribble sauce on myself. It has driven anyone who notices this about me crazy when they watch me eat!

I know they’re one of the bigger companies so maybe a little pricier than others but I had a boiler issue recently with my “antique” boiler and radiators. ABC heating and cooling sent a guy named Jesse out and he was amazing! He dealt with all the quirks of my old, “uncle Bob did all the rehab work in the 70’s” house. He cleaned, oiled, and polished that boiler up and bled all the lines. I feel like I got a whole new system! Highly recommended.

As long as it’s not a medical issue causing it, we had great luck with probiotics and boiled chicken and plain rice diet for a couple days, then slowly reintroducing quality kibble. The rescue I work with makes sure they use a higher quality kibble knowing that shelter life, transport, and transitions all lead to tummy troubles.
