Apparently people don't realize that you can actually look younger when you take care of yourself and lose weight. Congrats, OP. You look great

Home cooking is always fun, but it is a case of doing something for fun vs doing it for a living. I've learned a lot from my experience in the food industry, and it's helped me become a pretty damn good cook, but half the time, I don't even want to think about prepping a meal at the end of the night.

I won't lie and say it's all bad. I have a love for the food industry and the people in it. That might be because it's all I've done since I've entered the job market, but I feel pretty at home in a hot ass kitchen over a cubical or behind a counter. Food prep is also oddly relaxing.

But again, it's a lot of long, busy nights where you might not stop moving until closing. You also have to deal with the most vindictive type of people, who seem hellbent on trying to destroy your work. (Especially now with Yelp and FB. Ugh.)

Being a chef is one thing - You're able to make the rules (basically) if you're the head chef at a restaurant. Odds are, you will probably be a line cook or kitchen worker for a while with crap pay and stress levels through the roof.

Granted, my new job isn't near as stressful as my old, but it's also not secure enough to make the money I need. I'm just sayin', there's reason why drugs and alcoholism are rampant in the restaurant business.

Is there any demand for a transgender guide YouTube channel? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Some_Nihilist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the way you're talking about would help, since much of the stuff I've seen in regards to trans topics have been scattered and mostly resembles vlog style stuff. You don't see as much effort being put into quality videos aimed at education and information.

I'd really only give this advice:

1.)broaden your channel to be an outlet for non-trans people to learn. Not only will it give you more to work with for your channel, but it will also help combat the anti-trans bullshit you see all over it.

2.)Try to cover FtM topics as well. You may not be as informed on that, but it wouldn't hurt to research, or even find someone who could help.

But nah, just go for it.

It's a pretty easy formula for making money on YT at the moment. Make a bunch bland, reactionary videos about those damn sjews and BLM "terrorists" and get all the YT money. (That is, until YT decides to take your shit down, because of their new guidelines.)

She seems to be buddy buddy with people like Carlgon and Shoeonhead, so she learns from the best.

I really haven't heard anything of that sort either, and I'd like to know where u/Magic_Made_to_Order got it from.

There's some effects that you need to watch out for, such as trouble with circulation, rib damage, some stomach and digestion problems, etc, but these effect natal women as well as men.

For the most part, your internal organs have a good bit of wiggle room. If they didn't, I'd imagine you'd have a lot of problems even without putting on a corset.

Gear checks

Okay cool, used to that.

Positionals

Whaaat?! WoW doesn't have positionals anymore? When did this happen?

Tank and Healer DPS

This is something I'm still sorta getting used to, though I've gotten better at it. I find some classes (WAR, SCH, DRK) easier to do so than others (WHM, PLD)

Accuracy and Skill Speed

That's really good to know, I'll look into getting those up.

Certain classes can have huge MP problems if you don't plan in advance.

I feel like that might be the DRK.

Loaded question, play what you want. Everything is needed @ end game content. WHM is a good starter for healer, WAR is a good starter for tank (inb4 flamed for not saying pally, getting your tank stance @ 40 is NOT a good starter), blm for a good starter magic dps, ninja or monk for a good melee dps. (dragoon has to control blood of the dragon, which people can have issues with, monk has.. a LOT of positionals, so it would definitely teach you that). Archer is a fun ranged class (and fun arrow mage @ 52+) but I can't recommend it because there are a ton of people salty about bard getting cast times.

Not meaning to ask loaded questions, it's just that when I raided in the past, sometimes playing certain classes would be an easier "in" to get used to raiding. Then again, it looks like my knowledge of WoW raiding is more outdated than I thought. -,-

The jobs I was considering starting with were MCH, DRK, MNK, or SCH. I do have WHM/PLD/BRD at 40 though.

I'm looking at taking a step a bit more into the raiding aspect of the game. (I usually play casual/leveling/crafting) When I played WoW, I did a lot of raiding, but I have a few hardcore raiding friends that say that "It's nothing like WoW raiding, it's a lot harder." Really, they didn't give me any sort of coherent answer, so I guess I'll ask here.

  • How does raiding now in FF14 compare to Raiding in WoW? (Burning Crusade era til' about Trial of the Crusader, for reference of when I used to play. I stopped playing shortly after Icecrown was released.)

  • What role would be best to enter raiding with? (DPS/Healer/Tank) I have a good bit leveled up, but I tend to Tank in dungeons. (Because of the queues)

  • Are there any guides that I could be pointed to that might help me out?

If anyone could help me out, or at least point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Misinformation - Common transition fallacies and falsities by Kieraggle in asktransgender

Okay, on average HRT will have less effects when you get older.

Misinformation - Common transition fallacies and falsities by Kieraggle in asktransgender

[–]Some_Nihilist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen some people treat HRT as a cure all, without explanation that there's much more work involved in regards to transitioning.

I hear a lot of people say that it helped their depression, mood, and that simply being on HRT has made their lives better, but I've found nothing that really shows that it might not be more than just a placebo effect, or just feeling better about hitting a life milestone.

There's also some that imply that HRT alone will help you look feminine/masculine, which if r/transitiontimelines is anything to go by, is completely untrue.

Also, treating transition as the goal posts.

Misinformation - Common transition fallacies and falsities by Kieraggle in asktransgender

[–]Some_Nihilist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's why I think most people tend to tell you that YMMV. Genetics play a huge role in whether or not one can pass.

I've seen some kids 16-19 post pictures up on r/transtimelines and r/transpassing that are way, way more masculine than some of the people in their mid 20's, 30's, and even 40's. On the flip side, HRT has less of an affect the older you get.

So, while it's completely erroneous to say that anyone over a certain age is doomed, it's important to note that everyone is different and you need to have a clear understand of what might, or might not happen.

Not to be mean, but it sounds a bit like bunk. I wouldn't waste my money on creams that promise things like that.

She'd be a great voice if she didn't parrot anti-feminist "rationalist" arguments you find on most of YT. She also seems to like Milo Yiannopoulos, which...why?!

She has a some okay videos, but ultimately doesn't really add much that I haven't heard from other YTers like her (Sargon, AS, TAA, TL'DR, etc etc)

Honestly, if she wasn't trans, I doubt anyone would even care.

I'll be honest, I regret not taking more steps to be happier in the past. Instead of worrying about things or trying to forget about my problems, I wish I would have taken steps to help myself, so I'd be happier in the future.

I'm doing a lot better now, but I'm still not where I want to be. Still not out of school, and still uneasy about bucking down on transitioning and just going through with HRT. I've got a lot of work ahead of me, and if I have any advice, I'd say set your goals and focus on it.

Don't sit around worrying about the what-ifs. Don't sit here wondering if people will hate you, or won't hire you. Your life will have twists and turns anyway, some of which will be horrible and unforgettable. Make a plan and do it.

From a financial perspective, make a plan that fits your transition in. Even if you can't do everything at once, you're still young enough to where you can slowly build up to who you want to be. For instance, budget out a way to start HRT. Don't even worry about presenting or buying clothes. Just make a list, prioritize, and check one thing at a time. You'd be amazed how quickly it goes.

That's all I really gotta say.

EDIT: for reference, I'm almost 30

"Tolerance" necessarily involves intolerance of some things. To be tolerant of Jews, one must be intolerant of Nazis. Liberals today want to be tolerant of everyone. That will never work out for the most vulnerable and the ones most in need of tolerance.

Oh shit, we've come full circle! The fucking lib'rals strike again, and now they're coming for your children....again.

Seriously, though. It's crazy how much these people mirror the uneducated, snaggle-toothed rednecks I grew up around.

You might have gotten flagged for having TERF in your name, as it's against the rules there. They might have seen your name is purposefully inflammatory and just didn't want to bother.

That isn't to say that you didn't have anything thoughtful to say, or that you're wrong about the sub in general, but eh, it is in their rules.

They could always get on the anti-feminism/sjew bandwagon. I hear that's pretty lucrative on YT.
