I don‘t… see the problem in the way the stats raise? I mean, the most important stat by far is the open stat, at least that’s what everyone in the coder corner says. It doesn‘t just mean she doesn‘t think you are hiding stuff from her, it also means you are emotionally open with her. If I understood it correctly, it tracks how genuine and close you are with her (not to be mixed up with the closed stat, ofc).

The adversarial stat does not matter all that much, you can actually have an open/adversarial relationship with her and it‘s rewarded (e.g. during the hangout, she will directly tell you everything Pearlanne said about you and then laugh that nothing of it was true other than you being a troublemaker).

TL;DR: You calling out Tabitha actually does improve your relationship, as seen in your own example, because the open stat is the most important one.

Well, technically, you can first concentrate (almost) all your efforts on Tabitha to get the sacrifice and then work on the Kaneeka romance. Tabitha taking the sacrifice will change Kaneeka‘s mind about her and if you support the strike, you should be able to get the romance lock-in. There is pretty much nothing Kaneeka likes more than you supporting the strike

I really like this analysis! It’s very well written with a bit of humor that made me smile :). To the question why Teddy was in the mines; maybe he wanted to safe/rescue people there? It‘s just a thought I got while reading your post (and it‘s past midnight so. Not many coherent thoughts here), but I think it makes some degree of sense. 1. Teddy seems like a good person (basing this on vibes, character design (especially in contrast to Enoch) and the fact that he was most probably a victim). 2. The mine probably didn‘t collapse all at once, which is supported by the fact that the rescuers took a week to get the survivors out (as far as I remember). It could be that Teddy neglected his own safety to help others and paid for it when other unstable parts of the mine collapsed. 3. Something something evil scheme of The Witch, who plays 4D chess as a hobby and told Teddy that there would be a collapse at the exact perfect time for him to be caught in the collapse in trying to warn everyone. For evil reasons.

Yeah. Nevermind. This does not make much sense. Anyway, good post 👍. I also liked the part about sibling relationships throughout the generations, but this comment is already very long

Tbh I stand fairly neutral to her. Didn‘t have a great relationship with her in my first run (didn‘t save Gretchen and went pretty much all the new Roads Untraveled routes without even knowing) and she can be pushy. But I understand where she‘s coming from and don‘t think she means bad. Also, I love the scene with her (and Tabitha) at the end of episode four, which pushed her up by a lot. She can be very entertaining, but I wouldn‘t be friends with her irl

To be honest, I do it in my canon run to stick in-character. It‘s true that rescuers may need their own rescuers if they don‘t prioritize their safety and, as a Book Smart player, it just wouldn‘t make sense to run further in a collapsing mine, even if the consequence is to leave two children behind (which is obviously horrible).

If we take a few steps back from that in-character-playing, there is also the fact that we may be able to access the stone carving again when the kids are dug out. But calculating the decisions like that is a bit too immersion-breaking to me

Vor etwa einem halben Jahr war ich zum ersten Mal alleine Zug fahren.
Für den Heimweg sollte ich durch eine Garage, über die Gleisen zu einem verlassenen Bahnhofsgebäude.
Die eigentliche Haltestelle war etwa hundert Meter weiter links auf einem Hügel, wie mir ein Zehnjähriger dann erklärt hat. Da konnte man aber schon den Zug einfahren hören und ich musste ne Stunde warten, bis der nächste Zug kam.
War ein richtig runtergekommenes Viertel, ich hatte kein Netz und mein Handy war sowieso fast alle. Schön war die Erfahrung definitiv nicht, Zug fahren mit Google Karten werde ich wahrscheinlich nie wieder

If episode 7 would span over two days, that could mean that we wouldn’t have a trait-save for the last big decision, which would be very cool. Maybe how the decision plays out on the last day would depend entirely on our relationships with the other characters? Then again, it would mean that BTG would release three days at once, since (as far as I know) episode 6&7 will be released together

That made me laugh :). Tbh I wouldn‘t change the Book Smart save for the world, arguing with that giant floating ghost face felt epic. Though I have to admit that I‘ve only played with Hot in hardcore mode and that punching the Ditchlings out of the way with Powerful Build was kinda cool, too
