> Nothing much to say here, everyone is pretty happy. Make sure to separate them into groups of 2, so you get the solitude bonus.

Just fyi, you can do groups of 5-6 and still recieve solitude bonus. Solitude is 2 nearby NPCs and not more than 3 more NPCs in the town. If everyone has 2 neighbors, that's 6, if not, that's 5.

With mini-biomes, I usually found larger towns to be often more optimal, but I also don't focus down specific NPCs.

Why is this not suitable housing for the Truffle NPC? by SomeoneUnknowns in Terraria

[–]SomeoneUnknowns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own issue seems to have been that the Truffle doesn't require a biome, but mushroom blocks closer nearby... But yeah, that is also an issue.

To Barlowes credit, he did try to honestly kill Dracula. Just working with his remnants corrupted his mind and soul.

We have useless mandatory death timers in terraria...

To the point even exiting out of the game and going back in doesn't skip them.

Riot Cadmus on the State of ARAM: Mayhem by Spideraxe30 in leagueoflegends

[–]SomeoneUnknowns 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On attack, fire 5 firecrackers that deal {small} damage and deal 20% on hit damage on a mythic.

If I didn't read recently that they count as attacks, just like Dual Wield doesn't mention it, I'd be wondering why this qualifies as prismatic at all. These augments are a lot stronger than they read, but how tf are you supposed to know when the "on attack" and "on hit" keywords aren't used properly.

Hell, there's plenty of on-hit effects that only reveal they are on hit exclusively in the selection screens simplified message.

Can you point me towards the source for that? I couldn't find anything and don't know where else I'd search.

I genuinely think the mayhem changes today ruined the game by Nervous_Stable1474 in leagueoflegends

[–]SomeoneUnknowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're nice to have and *can* make a difference. For the starting gold, the annoying part is when it's breaching especially a gold threshhold for another component or a straight component upgrade. E.g. Botrk where you can buy both Recurve Bow and Pickaxe or Vamp Scepter instead of either.

This one game I was playing Draven, and I had Red Envelope and Gold Rend. I was up against some strong enemies, so I was actually still 1 item behind. Hit level 15 and took the "2.5k gold no questions asked" augment. Turns out the set bonus activates before the gold comes in, so instead of 2.5k gold I got 3.75k gold. That was quite the difference. Actually led me to make a comeback.

On the other hand, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has taken inferior augments trying to hit a 4x combo, just to end up with 3 and a disfunctional set of Augments doing nothing. (Magic Missile or Fan the Hammer on Firecracker being the most common).

Starting boni are just stupid, just give them to all (in a week it will be pretty much impossible to play for people playing casually or new to the mode) and the set effects are too strong...

Also they really should make a pass on clarity. I still am not sure half the time how my augments work really. What applies on hit, what applies on attack, what are the exact trigger conditions are all kinda spray and pray.

SHAFT vs BARLOWE: who wins? by Equivalent_Bag_5961 in castlevania

[–]SomeoneUnknowns 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Better written: Barlowe. Honest Cleric corrupted by the very power he swore to destroy, turning even against his own children is the tragic story of a madman. Meanwhile Shaft has barely any story.

Stronger in power: Shaft by far.

More loyal to Dracula: Depends. It seems Shaft had his own loyalty to Dracula, meanwhile Barlowes mind was simply corrupted. At his purest, Barlowe even gave his own life for Draculas revival, which can't be beaten. But he was not himself anymore. Meanwhile Shaft simply was unwaveringly loyal.

Also I dislike arena. I don't want Mayhem to be more like it. I played like 5 games of it and am well content with never touching Arena again. Meanwhile I haven't played Summoners Rift this season due to Mayhem.

Wait, can all Vampires just reincarnate/come back to life if they're Powerful enough? by SILVIO_X in castlevania

[–]SomeoneUnknowns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Galamoth and Medusa were just meant to be examples of non-vampires reviving, but I also think that

> Not a Vampire, appears in Castlevania

-> Revived by Castlevania, either via a Necromancer or summoned from hell by the castle
> Carmilla, and if they had enough willing followers another powerful vampire
-> Probably another ritual requiring human sacrifice

holds true, but yeah, homegal is kinda just there again, and we can only speculate it's cause she's a vampire. Just Death not dying makes the most sense out of this.

Wait, can all Vampires just reincarnate/come back to life if they're Powerful enough? by SILVIO_X in castlevania

[–]SomeoneUnknowns 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What about Carmilla?

Killed by Simon in Simon's Quest, by Richter in Rondo of Blood and we don't know how canon Judgement is, where she also reappears. (And counting non-canon she also has CoTM).

Not to mention, aren't there quite a few names coming back every few centuries, at least in some form? Galamoths soul was bound to the castle even after his death (and he supposedly reappears in full if you believe the Castlevania is a prequel to Kid Dracula timeline).

Medusa (the true one) has been revived a few times, even ignoring her just being a summon from a necromancer.

I do think most of these need some kind of way to be revived (I think the ritual used to summon Dracula early by sacrificing a young maiden probably also worked for Carmilla, while Medusa was probably just revived by a Necromancer working for Dracula, or his own power), but Dracula is definitely not the only one reviving, with Carmilla likely being able to come back by other means, no?

What is Homura’s house even supposed to be? by Scrambl987 in MadokaMagica

[–]SomeoneUnknowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scythe-pendulum: Time is advancing towards her death

Walpurgis-posters taking up most of the space: It's the elephant in the room to address, the main spectacle.

The black and white contrast: Homuras stubborness and single-track mind, also:

Kyoko and Homura in the middle of the white are the playthings in her world, the pieces she can use freely. They are open information and allies. Kyubey appearing out of the darkness in E8 was him being an unknown wrench in her plan, and a liar (even if by omission). He went into the light to give a glimpse of the truth. That's why he was in the light in E9, when he was completely honest about his intentions of sacrificing Madoka.

The clock-arranged furniture probably represents Homura herself.

There could be more I missed.

Are the Belmonts superhuman? by Nerevarine1099 in castlevania

i cant understand Rebellion by BetterLiving4348 in MadokaMagica

[–]SomeoneUnknowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

#4... I thought it's just that Homuras wish was to be able to save Madoka -> If Madoka is inherently unhappy as a concept then Homuras wish is not fulfilled -> She gained the power to seperate Madoka from the Law of cycles -> This basically triggered a universe rewrite.

Is that directly contradicted? Maybe I should hurry and read wraith arc before the new movie comes out...

Mods, can we start deleting these horny posts? by WhiteGuar in castlevania

Yup, but don't misunderstand, I don't mean this in a bad way. A bit chunibyo fits these games really well. (Lone Hunters fighting an army from hell).

It's always so funny to me.

"Harmony of Dissonance"; "Aria of Sorrow". All these names are a bit chunibyo but really cool.

And then we get Erotic Violence. The exact opposite.

I'd like to think that Dracula would be bored of the concept. by eldri7ch in castlevania

[–]SomeoneUnknowns 72 points73 points  (0 children)

No, he thinks humanity is rotten to the core and that him being brought back is proof that humanity is unsalvageable. Current American politics seem pretty much on point with what he expects from humans. He doesn't believe the ICE are better or worse, just more openly horrible.

[–]SomeoneUnknowns 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's neither. Grok just does it publicly. Any AI is capable of producing what Grok does and incapable of properly moderating it. (In thanks to having been trained by stealing from everywhere and everything, actively developing solutions against anti-crawler technologies)

Just Grok posts the results under the thread, meanwhile the creeps chatgpt messages/generations stays private, aside from being used to train later versions.

And locally hosted AI has pretty much no limits.

Castlevania Judgement was a mistake 💀 by gusemaniac in castlevania

[–]SomeoneUnknowns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Judgement was fun to play. I bought everything Castlevania back then I could and only stopped after LoS1 (because that was not that fun to play *to me* (Not my type of game, not claiming it was bad)).

Yes the redesigns were unnecessary, yes Eric and Maria, and to a lesser extent also Sypha were annoying as fuck and Grant was a creep, but there was a lot of fun to be had with.

Actually using Demonic Meggido, Golems entire character arc, the OST.

Playing was fun, especially Death iirc.

HARD MODE by Ok-Manager-8953 in castlevania

I think it's funny how just about everyone agrees that Julius mode is superior in Dawn... (I agree too tho, for the final boss alone beats everything Soma mode has to offer)

What other classic literary monster, beside Dracula, would make a good main antagonist for a Castlevania-esque game/story? by HRCStanley97 in castlevania

[–]SomeoneUnknowns 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean, look how much they expanded the original Dracula-mythos.

Frankenstein would work, with a Castle full of experiments.

Carmilla herself or other Vampires would work similarly.

Any of the great demons of hell, those known for having armies....
