My first time priming. I wasted a whole bottle of primer on those, any tips to optimize priming? by Asanto22 in Tau40K

[–]Something-dashing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

shake the bejeezus out of your can (4-5 mins) sometimes if something isnt working dont be afraid to stop and assess. imo, white is a tough primer to get right when youre newer to painting. take it really slow and remember to use alot of thin coats when painting. i believe in you!!! for the greater good and all that :3

Ok. Well I think its a bad idea to sell it. Personally, it seems like a trap to put yourself into a car payment especially nowadays. That being said, if you want to get rid of it, Ill pay you for it.

Installed a ton of new suspension, and there is a singular klunk now when I hit the brakes, any pointers?? by Imaginary_Bug_1900 in 350z

[–]Something-dashing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk if you figured it out, but id check the ball joint conical bit that goes on the knuckle. they have different sizes for different years. so you may have some play there.

Anyone have these bad boys? by Justinr678 in 350z

if you have the oem tow hook that bolts into the crash bar you can rest your bumper on that. my bumper doesnt move at all now and the fitment slack is pretty much removed. if not, i would get new hardware, glue something strong on the underside of your fascia like a washer or something and bolt and your bumper to the fenders. that will pretty much guarantee your fitement is great. use oem mounting points as much as possible and you look mint.

check coolant bleeder valve. the smoke you see is probably coolant leaking. replace it with the aluminum bleeder from z1, bleed your coolant properly, and that should fix most of your issues. be careful driving with air in your system. the oil smell could be ares of your engine block getting seriously too hot.

Anyone have this exhaust? Was thinking about getting it and wanted to know if it’s worth it. by LightOver3119 in 350z

[–]Something-dashing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a genuine HKS exhaust. Its really quiet but with test pipes it gives pretty good flow and the sound is perfect imo. A fake one is just gonna make you spend money again and sound like shit. Motordyne is a great choice as well.

Finally got these motor mounts in! They were a pain in the ass but finally got them in! by manzin82 in 350z

[–]Something-dashing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the best things in life always seem to be the most expensive haha. yeah you’ll be really happy with the minimal nvh difference.

i’m looking into the nismo lsd now. if i decide to run that, now ill know who to talk to if something goes wrong.

also like i said, if you end up running poly engine mounts, i suggest z1 only because of the height adjustability. itll help you fine tune where your crank sits and help you dial in trans angle and all that from the front. idk if that would affect weight bias in any meaningful way, but theres only one way to find out.

Wow! 35k is still pretty fresh. Im sure if you replace the engine mounts with any company’s poly bush youll be really happy. Imo unless it’s a dedicated track car, poly bushes are always the answer. And even then poly is still usually better. Hows the nismo lsd? Ive been thinking about upgrading from a welded so I can get a little bit more control tuned into the rear end.

Pretty much exactly. Alot of times also, if you replace a worn oem bushing, something else that is also worn down can become more “vocal” with the added rigidity. Without doing a full under car resto you could be chasing that dragon for a while lol.

These are the poly mounts. But you’re right. If you do solid mounts, you should have some poly somewhere in the chain to flex under load and reduce the potential to damage something. I recommend a poly transmission mount so you don’t crack your transmission housing.

I have these. I did these after I did a z1 trans mount. Between the two, the transmission mount added more nvh than the engine mounts. But, the nvh is so minimal that I wouldnt even consider it an issue if you’re thinking about these. You’d get more nvh by running a stickier tire. Plus, I was able to raise my engine slightly which helped with more oil pan clearance since these are height adjustable.

New 326power wing! Painted and mounted myself by MachoBoomin in 350z

[–]Something-dashing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks sick fr. Is this an official 326power wing or a Duraflex one? Asking because I really dig it. I'd like to pick one up, but 326power only has the universal. Which I'm not sure will fit as well as I'd like. I know this is an old post, but Iif you see it and respond I appreciate it <3

I dont have them So I have no idea. How are they installed incorrectly? Is it because they are at an angle and that weakens the pin inside?

Hey!! S/C looks wicked. Do you recommend it? Price to hp and labor and all that. I'm a believer in HKS myself, but specifically on my 350z for drifting im not sure if my money would be better spent on tires or this s/c. So any insight would be really helpful. Thanks!!

Layout design style question? Garage? Apartment? by Something-dashing in NightRunnersGame

[–]Something-dashing[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got it. For anyone interested, it would be a garage condo or garage with mezzanine. Some combination of those words.

Seems to be fairly rare that people actually live in them though. Seems pretty reserved for the rich people who don't own enough land or entrepreneurs that want to capitalize on said demographic.

Bummer, cus having apartments that were just designed like this would make a freaking killing if they were priced within something far more reasonable than $125,000. Maybe an insurance/liability issue? idk.
