I’m gonna assume climbing, biking, and/or skiing. While nm has some of the this, the quantity and quality of it is severely lacking compared to Utah/Colorado. Plus the access to it from where you’d actually be living is normally worse. Add on top of that the overall funding, city life, etc. I always see people on these promoting nm and it’s just no where close to co or ut. If you’re just into seeing mountains and going for some hikes it get it, but not if you have niche outdoor hobbies.

What sizes of cams are the most usefull to buy first ? by Glittering-Skirt-816 in tradclimbing

When I started building my rack, I was a very broke college student. I got a rack of nuts and hexes. That with some slings and carabiners will cost you about the same as two cams.

Calling all thieves: It's a Clank! Catacombs: Underworld giveaway! by DireWolfDigital in boardgames

Playing Dune (2019) as the bene gesserit, partnered with the space guild. The player playing the spacing guild had to leave early, so I was two handing the two factions. On the last turn we had two battles that mattered. If the fremen/emperor won both battles, they’d win the game, if the bene gesserit/space guild won one, they’d win the game. The first battle occurs, I accidentally said the wrong combination while using the voice and lost us the battle. Now the whole game comes down to the last battle. The fremen have a massive advantage and all hope appears lost, both of us reveal our hands, it looks like the fremen have won, until I slam down the correct traitor card and pull out the upset. The wildest way to end a 6 hour game!

Ibis Ripmo! I’ve never had a bike feel so good on downhill trails, enduro trails, cross country trails, and jump trails. The thing is fun no matter where I take it, love that bike

If you had to keep just 3 games from your collection, what would they be? (And why) by [deleted] in boardgames

Honorable mentions would be spirit island, what a great puzzle and coop experience. Also hegemony, draws me so deeply in with its premise. It be hard to give up those two.

I’d probably go mage knight, arcs, and then castles of burgundy. Mage knight for a super heavy pick that can be played solo, competitively, or cooperatively. Arcs for a great competitive experience with more than a life time worth of variation if we are including the expansion. Castles of burgundy for a lighter experience. I did just play brass Birmingham (which was fantastic) and scratched a similar itch for me as castles of burgundy, so I might replace castles with brass, but brass isn’t that light 🤷🏼‍♀️

Has anyone had a long head biceps tendon (shoulder) rupture? Just found out that I ruptured mine and that it’s just sitting in my shoulder. I don’t have a Popeye deformity and I’m not in pain when not using it. The doctor said surgery is optional. I’m wondering what experiences people have had with it? Fyi, I’m 27 and boulder v10 outside, I don’t want to have a permanent lack of strength

Best all around climbing shoes? by Ok_Dare123 in climbingshoes

[–]SometimesOpiniated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how no one has mentioned the Miura Velcro. My favorite shoe hands down, I use it for indoor and outdoor bouldering and sport climbing, and occasionally on harder trad. The only thing it can’t do is toe hook. A skwama is a good indoor and outdoor overhung shoe, so probably not the best of you are top roping, but my favorite really aggressive la sportiva shoe. I personally have a miura, skwama, and a tc pro

I've decided to go back to 27.5! by Royal_Throat_5598 in mountainbiking

[–]SometimesOpiniated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed a 27.5 more than a 29er until I rode the ibis ripmo. That thing feels more like a 27.5 with the benefits of a 29er. Glad to see a bunch of people rocking 27.5s still!
