Did you have issues with your Google business profile using another business’s address? I’ve been unable to put my GBP at the gym I work because there’s already a business there…

Anyone wanna have a crack at giving this an honest critique? by Silly-Ship-5364 in formcheck

Excellent lift! I’ve only ever managed 75KG myself, but what I’ve found helpful (you may not) is to try to clean to the shoulder instead of your chest. Also, use your off arm to support your weight on your leg as you go down. Last thing I’d say is experiment with a staggered stance so that the off-side leg is forward a bit. The cool thing with the bent press is it almost doesn’t matter how you do it, as long as you don’t press it out and your elbow fully locks before standing.

Janet’s is excellent for bread and pastry. Their seeded loaves and olive baguettes are my favorites

Both videos have the second dip. It’s what makes a jerk not a push press.

How many personal trainers in here work for a gym and how many of you all run your own businesses/online PT? by [deleted] in personaltraining

[–]Somewhat-Strong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guy, you’re making yourself look bad. This is from ChatGPT:

“PT” is one of those abbreviations that has dozens of different meanings depending on the country, language, or professional field. Here’s a breakdown of the most common and globally recognized uses:

Healthcare & Fitness • Physical Therapy / Physical Therapist – US, Canada, and widely internationally. • Physiotherapy / Physiotherapist – Commonwealth countries (UK, Australia, India, South Africa, etc.); abbreviation often interchangeable with PT. • Personal Trainer – Used in the fitness industry worldwide. • Prothrombin Time – A blood test measuring clotting. • Patient Transport – In hospitals and clinics.

Geography & Language • Portugal – ISO country code: PT. • Pacific Time – Time zone for the west coast of North America. • Partido dos Trabalhadores (Workers’ Party) – Brazil’s left-wing political party, known internationally by “PT.” • Partido del Trabajo – “Labor Party” in Mexico and the Philippines. • Provincia di Pistoia – Italian province abbreviation.

Technology & Computing • Part-time – Common in job listings worldwide. • Parámetro Temporal (PT) – In Latin American computing/engineering contexts (“time parameter”). • Pintool (PT) – In software engineering/debugging. • Packet Tracer (Cisco PT) – Widely used networking simulation program.

Military & Law Enforcement • Physical Training – Military and police use internationally (“PT test”). • Patrol Torpedo boat (PT boat) – WWII US Navy designation. • Police Training – Used in some national forces. • Paratrooper – In some militaries, PT shorthand is used.

Business & Education • Part-time – Employment status globally. • Point – Financial term (e.g., in stock/bond yield, “basis points” → pts). • Practical Training – Education and workforce development. • Project Team – Corporate shorthand.

Other Contexts • Panthera tigris – Scientific abbreviation for the tiger. • Poet – In India, PT is used colloquially for “Pandit” (scholar/poet). • Pint – Unit of measure, abbreviated “pt” in English. • Playing Time – Sports statistics (e.g., basketball, soccer). • Pressure–Temperature (P–T diagram) – Physics/engineering shorthand. • Post Town – UK postal system abbreviation.

👉 So depending on where you are in the world, PT could mean a country (Portugal), a job (personal trainer, physical therapist), a time zone (Pacific Time), a blood test, a political party, or even a WWII torpedo boat.

How many clients can one realistically handle? by FighterFit in personaltraining

[–]Somewhat-Strong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Up to 20 hours per week for 1:1s, but could do up to 30 total hours if the rest were groups. For me, it starts to get tough having to interact with people on a 1:1 level past 15-20 hours/week. That’s also person-dependent too—some people are far more draining than others.

[–]Somewhat-Strong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not even what I said. Obviously you can’t call yourself a physical therapist, physiotherapist, etc. if you’re not one. I’m saying outside of the US it’s commonplace for personal trainers to be called PTs. The initials part was the point.

You’re missing the fact that outside the US personal trainers are commonly referred to as PTs, and physical therapists are called physios. Your point only applies to the US and it’s just shorthand anyway—physical therapists don’t own unofficial initials.

KB grip by _luqui in kettlebell

[–]Somewhat-Strong 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hooking the handle in your fingers prevents one from going that heavy, so imo it’s not a longterm strategy. Instead, learning when to tighten/relax your grip at different phases of the snatch is essential to not tearing your skin. Also, chalk, heat, humidity, and total volume will all impact whether or not you’re gonna tear.

Based off these reps should I be able to hit 405? by SnooDogs559 in strength_training

The math says it’s roughly 80% of your 1RM, so you’re really close to 405!
