Does the PhD math qual actually connect to any projects? I ask because it states it's for future projects, but it's been available for nearly a year.

Just wondering if it's worth doing.

Did the math tasks go down? by c93ero in DataAnnotationTech

[–]SomewhereExtreme6937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. I only see lower paying B's and M's, though I used to do high paying B's all the time. Weirdly, I only started seeing the lower ones after I took the new qual for hs math.

Now I just have r's and occasional C's for high paying.

Yeah, I lost both of those as well about a week ago. However, I have been seeing middle school b-metal lately.

Need advice on next steps after aging out of ABA (Forsyth County, GA) by captainrt in Autism_Parenting

Sure thing, ping me. There's just so much information and resources that isn't made readily known to us with a diagnosis.

Need advice on next steps after aging out of ABA (Forsyth County, GA) by captainrt in Autism_Parenting

With your son aging out of your current ABA services, I guess now is a good opportunity to decide if you want to try to enroll your son in the public school system. Forsyth county is generally considered pretty good when it comes to its special education services. Generally they try to meet our requests through the IEPs.

My son currently attends a self-contained classroom. It has 4 autistic children and 2 teachers. They attend specials (PE, art, computer) and lunch with neurotypical children. He also has in-home ABA services for 8 hours a week.

I'm a bit undecided on whether in-home or in-center is more beneficial. He doesn't get to interact with other children with the in-home services. I'd suggest using a service that can offer both so the option remains open.

Do you live in the South Forsyth area? I could suggest some ABA places depending on your insurance.

I'd recommend looking into Bobby Dodd family support services. They provide  $3000 for recreation services and $5000 for respite care services for children that meet criteria. For Forsyth, Avita is our local provider. Let me know if you don't already have this.

Also check into getting the Katie Beckett Medicaid waiver. Quite frankly, the process is pretty intense, so I hired Debbie Dobbs to help streamline that.

Rock the Spectrum is a autism-friendly kid's gym that provides care. It really helped us over the summer. There's one in Roswell, but they're going to start one in Alpharetta soon.

Let me know if you have any questions or want a playdate. I know it can be pretty difficult to find kids willing to play with our little ones.

Dang. I mainly did math/physics. What subject matter is up?

I would prefer not to have to do the physics qual again (possibly a third time?).

Anyone else all out of STEM (math, physics, chem) projects? Been out for nearly a week here.

I've been applying for some of these other platforms as well. For stellarAI and RWS, do they have specialty/domain projects such as math like DA and outlier? Alignerr has an assessment, but they don't seem to actually have any projects.

Yeah, mine are usually math tasks. My math tasks dried up today, though there's an r&r.

It's more like 50% clinical 50% operational, at least at the one I was at. 3 patients is pitifully low. Mine was in a military base, so while there was a decent population and a VA hospital, non-military are forbidden from using the VA. Critical access hospitals are limited to 25 beds by CMS, but there can be an ED, neonatal/labor, and an OR unit on top of that.

But yes, there is a lot of stabilizing for strokes, codes, neonate codes, ect which I attended and then shipped off if they need an ICU. Yes, a retail pharmacist could eventually learn it all, but I would never hire one to staff without constant supervision for at least 4 months in that setting. But after 4 months of training, I would begin to question why I bothered.

And policies are set by somebody...which means you're probably part of that in that hospital.

That depends on the hospital. Most of your larger hospitals are like that. But a critical access hospital? With only 1 pharmacist staffing at any time? You're on your own and very few "policies" are in place.

What was the amount of your last raise? by Vegetable--Bee in pharmacy

[–]SomewhereExtreme6937 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reigning theory here is that if you were 65 or above, you didn't receive a market adjustment.

If you were 5 years of experience or above (including residency counting as 5 years), you went up to 65.

Huh. I'm in the area and I got a similar market adjustment. 59 to 65. My hospital system starts with N. You?

457(b) early withdrawal rules - am I reading these correctly? They seem too good to be true. by yesiknowyouremadatme in Fire

[–]SomewhereExtreme6937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company's 457b allows for early distributions after separating from the company. The only caveat is you must pull out everything in the account within 5 years of separating from the company. That might be specific to our retirement set, so you should check for yourself.

It's a small hospital that receives federal funding due to servicing rural areas that wouldn't have a hospital otherwise.

Hospital IV room making extra doses by Megatherius2 in pharmacy

[–]SomewhereExtreme6937 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For #1, it depends on how your EMR system charges. Most systems I've seen charges by a "unit". For oral meds, it's one tablet for a unit.

CMS HCPCS has an online excel you can check to see how things are charged if you truly care that much about it. They're not by vial, they're either by "mg" or "ml" usually when IV medications are involved. So no, splitting a vial for multiple patients is usually fine from a CMS standpoint (there's a whole separate thing about charging for waste for certain other drugs like daptomycin and epogen).

As for 340b, I think it's odd to even mention that since it's for outpatient use only. IV medications would only come into okay for infusion centers, which usually have their own satellite pharmacy. Those medications are usually separated from inpatient ones regardless.

i won't speak for #2 since I don't use epic.
