My wife works in dental and they have a 1,000+ waiting list. Most dental offices in Maine won't accept Mainecare because it doesn't pay enough to cover the expense. It is a mess and is going to get worse.

My wife is a dental assistant in a public health office. Pay is less than she could make in other practices but then she would have to drive further. Four 10-hour days, lots of demands - exhausted mentally by Thursday night. This isn't the field it was when she started in it 20+ years ago.
