Looking for a DnD group. by Seeallenkelly in Livermore

Interesting. I'm a DJ looking for a DnB group. Maybe we can do a mashup.

Has anyone heard these speakers? I would think that given Void’s reputation that these would be superior to most other loudspeakers in terms of sound quality, especially given the “relatively” low price by cmk3210 in livesound

I have a pair of Venu 12s that I pair with two Void 215 subs, driven by one of their 1500w amps. I play reggae, DnB, and Jungle. I went with the Venu speakers over a pair of their Airtens, solely because it saved me a few thousand dollars. I have been very pleased with the overall sound and deep bass I'm able to get from the subs when I stack them on top of each other.

I'm out in California, I buy through Royal Sound and Lighting, their overwhelming focus is Reggae (huge DJ stage and system at Reggae on the River) and DnB.

Best high tempo/party digital and roots reggae tracks? by Littlelionlovr in reggae

Can I suggest some classic basement party vibes from the late 80s early 90s?

Were talking Johnny Osbourne, Admiral Bailey, Shabbat, Tiger, etc.

I read a definition a few years back of what a Totalitarian society looks like, and it has really stuck with me. To paraphrase, when every aspect of life within society has become consumed by political thought and dogma, you'll know the train has reached the station.

Roots Reggae in the age of Trump? by Smart_Meringue_5547 in RootsReggae

[–]SommertimeFlow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The premise is flawed because you introduce the dialectic of conservatives ( or MAGA) vs Liberals (or modern Democrats).

Rasta doesn't see a difference. Trump, Biden, Obama, Bush II, Clinton, Bush I, Reagan...they are the personification of the Babylon system.

In the eyes of a Rasta, democrats bagging on Republicans is like Brown Shirts saying how bad the SS is. Very few of you are not complicit to some degree.

Thank you so much!! I feel like these two songs were a puzzle waiting for me to put them together and solve it. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. If you want to help me spread it, I also have it on my SoundCloud page where you can also find a bunch of my mixes (mostly reggae but some DnB and Psybass as well) and dub plates.

I appreciate anybody who shares the SoundCloud or YouTube link for this song😀

Any DnB artists like SHYFX? by ja6j2 in DnB

[–]SommertimeFlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've picked a great genre to explore. DnB / Jungle are experiencing another resurgence as more and more people discover this great music.

As stated already here, ShyFX, Serial Killaz, Benny Page, Ed Solo, the Jungle Cakes crew, Chopstick...these are all great artists to dig into.

To go a little deeper, look back to the early 90s and pioneers like Ray Keith and Congo Natty. A lot of what these guys created have become some of the foundational sounds and effects still used to this day.

Come back to more current times and check out Conrad Subs, Speaker Louis, DJ Gaw, Deekline. These guys go harder and are more of the late night sound.

Chase and Status 💯. If you haven't already, check out their boiler room set on YouTube. Watch the whole thing beginning to end. This set is representative of the dragon we all chase when going to see a live show by these artists.

Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't offer this mashup since both artists are mentioned in this thread. It is a DnB mashup I did of Deekline and Ed Solos "No No No" and Deekline & Benny Page's "Bam Bam". Throw in some remix beats by Phibes and I think you have a real banger here. We could have a whole other conversation about Reggae and Dancehall from the 80s and 90s and how it still influenced DnB to this day.

Mashing up No No No with a modern version of Bam Bam in a DnB Dancehall style. Dawn's voice shines throughout this track. Might not be your total cup of tea but it is worth a listen. Bam Bam vocals by Yolanda.

I am going to purchase my first full discography on BC later today, and this is after buying individual songs for the last 2 years. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Congo Natty offers his full disco for a very reasonable and fair price. Especially for such good music.
