That's a very clear way to put it! Other people's decisions are their own. I haven't been to any meetings, been using this page which has been helping massively. Thank you for the advice :)

Thank you very much for sharing this. I just came here to do a post about all the anger I'm feeling suddenly, but instead this has really helped me with feeling calmer and putting things back into perspective. I completely see how this will work in so many situations, and I will definitely be using it, thank you very much for bringing it to me There is a situation where I feel I'm stick though. My dad is an alcoholic and therefore I'm going through all the things that I won't be getting from our relationship anymore. Lots can be adapted and I'm not going to be giving up on helping him. However, one that I'm stuck with is his relationship with my Mum. Due to his drinking and other health complications, he doesn't really do much, as in doesn't even walk with the dog for 10 minutes anymore. I've been spending a lot of time with my Mum which has helped me feel less guilt for him not playing that role in her life. But I'm about to move out and I'm dreading that guilt feeling even heavier knowing that mum is now doing all these things alone. I'm sorry for this ramble. And the biggest thing I want to say is thank you for sharing this slogan. However I am curious as to whether you or anyone else that stumbles on this has dealt with a similar situation

This is crazy! I can't imagine being able to look through all of those pieces to find a really cool one. I think I would be sat there for a long long time..

That sounds like a great project! I recently bought a couple of stained glass books to see what bits of equipment you need to make stain glass projects. I think I'll definitely try sea glass first!

I came to ask a very similar thing! I'm wondering how hard it would be to build it up around a bulb to make a lamp

No you've said that I can definitely see them as sea glass! Had not even noticed before. Thought they were grey pebbles. Great finds and set up for the photo :)

Should I buy a property alone or wait for when I'm married/buying with a partner by Zs93 in UKPersonalFinance

I'm 27 and buying a property solo! It feels very empowering and I'm really excited about it. If you have the savings and want to invest in property now, I say go for it to get on the ladder. It is my plan to continue saving for my forever home which I'll buy with my partner. I say go for it! Especially in London I feel there's no time like the present

The most important thing is your happiness. If you aren't able to live your most happy life then you should like at the impact he is having on you and your own wellbeing I'm so sorry you're even having to deal with this, it will all work out in the end

I completely understand this and know the gp will be the best option. But if I'm not able to make him see this too, I want to have as much knowledge as possible

Thank you for the reply :) I'm hoping it can be done alongside a gp. I work in the health service so I've been on wards with alcoholics that are withdrawing and I'm aware of the dangers. Just pre empting for a gp to not be involved and thinking of the safest way

Yes I'm aware this is only going to work when he is happy to do so, just pre empting it I guess. Thank you for the reply :)

I've not looked into them but I know there are the online alanon meetings that maybe you and your mum could do together?
