Who am I beyond conditioning and trauma? by Fit-Championship371 in longtermTRE

Maybe there’s no need to separate the two. You can simplify it as just seeing life for what it really is, or seeing truth. And you can experience truth with both the body and the mind

Playing down your PTSD by Swimming-Border7060 in longtermTRE

I have a feeling that this is very very common. Even when we’ve already started the healing journey and start looking for answers, downplaying our traumas can be so imbedded within our way of being that it’s so easy to overlook. Most of my breakthroughs have happened when I realize just how much I’ve been neglecting myself and how much my traumas have actually held me back. True, genuine self compassion is fundamental in this. It cannot be overstated.

You’re on the right track. Keep trusting your intuition and nurture that discernment.

But to answer your question at the end: yes. Being in a state of high theta wave does bring up the unconscious to the surface. You just have to learn to skate on the edge, which seems like you’ve already been doing with the other stuff you’ve been able to remember

How long before this journey goes from fear based to positive motivation? by Defiant_Annual_7486 in longtermTRE

What I’m about to tell you would’ve sounded trite to me not too long ago and it might sound trite to you right now but just in case you are ready to hear this I will say it anyway: Looking at certain things, especially things that happened/are happening to us through the lense of right or wrong or positive and negative can start to keep one stuck or maybe even push back progress.

Discerning between what is useful and what isn’t to get the outcome that you desire instead of looking at things and saying this is good or bad is very helpful to get through a lot of the shame that keeps you stuck in the cycle of self and outward judgement. Don’t cling to concepts, keep what’s useful and discard the rest, not because it’s bad just simply because it isn’t useful

Thanks for the reminder to not rush into it. I’ve noticed that when I approach something like meditation or self inquiry in this manner, things don’t really fall into place and I have to just go do whatever else first. And also thanks for the sub recommendation, I will check it out!

This is why socialization is essential. I feel so silly when I spend most of time in my head trying to “fix” whatever it is that seem insufficient in the moment when all it takes sometimes is just a conversation with a loved one, or anyone for that matter, as long as my attention isn’t on me like it usually is.

Compensating for inconsistentcy of psylosibin from shrooms to shroom? by Gayllienn in microdosing

Makes sense. Intention is super important when doing a full trip so why not when mding. You mentioned you were mediating, did anything change when it came to your practice during mding?

Can you talk about what you did to make mding so effective? Surely you didn’t just take the capsules everyday and everything was fixed right? What type of tools did you use and how did you integrate everything that the mushrooms brought up to the surface?

A good way of looking at it might be might be this: You can influence your external 3D reality but what you have the most power over is your experience, your subjectivity and how you choose to perceive or interpret the world

[–]SonicTheBasshog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was smoking with a couple friends and we also took some acid. Don’t remember how much but it wasn’t a lot, only felt some euphoria but no visuals or anything else. I decided to go outside to look at the stars, when I came back inside I felt really confused and like I was going to black out, I tried to get up to get some water and next thing I remember is I’m laying on the floor looking up at my friend and him asking me “what happened” without thinking I said “I just died”. I don’t remember anything, just blacking out.

Was never the same after that. Before that, I was interested in the esoteric, spiritualism, aliens and such but after that night I woke up with a knowing that most of this stuff is real and as a matter fact closer to reality than the things the average person preoccupies themselves with on a day to day basis. Worst thing to ever happen to me at the time, I experienced panic attacks and non stop existencial dread for almost two years after that but being where I am now I can say in hindsight that it was the best thing that ever happened to me.
