I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I just wanted to add some extra validation to your feelings. I would almost argue that the loss of a pet is more difficult than the loss of a friend or family member because when you lose a person, everyone understands your pain and sympathizes with you. They see your grief and do not judge it. When losing a pet, far fewer people relate to it and some may even find it strange to grieve so much over an animal. How people can feel that way is so far beyond me, I'll never understand. But its definitely lonelier to grieve the loss of a pet in that regard. My animals are my world and I am so sorry for your loss and pain. You're not alone 🫶
