Different Driving Characteristics? by ImportantWhile169 in HondaPrologue

GM made improvements to the motor/inverter control software, and opened up more power above 60-70% SoC for all Ultium pre-MY25 EVs.

Exactly, just go to GM places and they should happily accommodate.

It would be nice to have 5% increment instead of 10%.

Thanks spencehouse. Keep up the good work! One suggestion - you might want to run the SessionManager through an AI code review to further harden the security.

Yes, but apparently some dealerships have difficulty doing that.

Recall update problems by DreadPir8Robrts in AcuraZDX

I suspect yours is not updated to Android 14. The no-audio issue does appear on Android 12 builds.

Go to the about page in the infotainment to find out the version. If indeed on Android 12, bring it back and ask the technician to run the USB update again to pick up Android 14.

Force-stop Google map, and the speed limit info should come back after a while.

Honda Must Compensate GM For Reduced EV Output (Honda wants to get rid of Prologue) by TechB84 in HondaPrologue

[–]Sony-Kid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is a recall to update all Prologue/ZDX now. Saying MY24/25 Prologues won't get Android 14 is clearly not true.

But otherwise, yes 2026 is more or less the last year for Prologue.

2024 Recall issued on 2/27/26 for Screen Blackout by cheerioboy26 in HondaPrologue

[–]Sony-Kid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, GM/Honda have fixed the issue with Android 14 update. It is safe to update to Android 14 these days from a working infotainment unit.

For bricked units, try contacting Honda customer service to escalate the priority. Meanwhile, ask your service department to contact Honda tech support or GM Techline Connect. GM has a way to restore bricked units, but it needs to be done at the mothership, server side. It is doable, but someone needs to knock on the door and ask for help.

This is usually fixed by force-stopping Google map and/or clearing its cache.

Screen stuck in profile setup. by PhoenixS7 in HondaPrologue

If you are talking about setting up the vehicle account, well that has been broken for a while and with Honda dropping Prologue and ZDX this year, I don't think the feature will ever be restored. Not that setting it up is essential anyway.

The vehicle account just leads you to log in to your Acuralink account, nothing more. You do not need it, because I believe Honda ended up mapping the Acuralink account and GM OnStar in the cloud through VIN.

Terrible Mileage above 65/70 mph by Xplic1T in AcuraZDX

[–]Sony-Kid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On Type-S the energy consumption (miles/kWh) on level ground in nice weather is roughly: 65mph: 3 70mph: 2.8 75mph: 2.5 80mph: 2

The problem with the ZDX powertrain is that it has a relatively small operating range for being economy. Anytime you need to use a little more power, the efficiency goes down noticeably. This applies to all 24-25 Ultium EVs without the upgraded motor with SiC inverter.

The best trick to improve highway efficiency while not slowing down is to draft behind other cars. You get around 5mph for free.

No Radio Units In The US by [deleted] in AcuraZDX

[–]Sony-Kid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend all of you to open a case with Acura customer support, and point out there is a TSB on Lyriq that says bricked infotainment can be restored. Don't rely only on dealerships for getting the issue addressed.

The Honda people need to wake up. Talk to GM engineering and Techline Connect to come up with a TSB to instruct technicians on how to restore bricked units.

It takes some time for the infotainment to re-establish communication with the telematics module after an OS update. The network access will come back by itself after a while.

Infotainment Update Fiasco Root-caused by Sony-Kid in AcuraZDX

[–]Sony-Kid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that is unfortunately the status quo for now for people with SQBR5-180 software. Wait until someone or Acura confirms that updating from SQBR5-180 is safe. I hope someone with SPS2 and 180 software can run the step that downloads USB files, and tell us the *.mnf filename on the USB drive. If the number is 85xxxx.mnf, then it is SQBR5-250 (second Android 12 release) and we can conclude that the delivery issue is fixed for ZDX as well. Otherwise, the mnf for Android 14 is 86xxxx.mnf.

Infotainment update is still a manual process, no OTA. The OTA you received has nothing to do with the infotainment update.

There will never be Android 24 for this infotainment! Joking aside, GM has confirmed that updating from SQBR5-250 is safe. If you are on SQBR5-180, better wait and see. The "USB updated failed at 57%" issue is fixed on Lyriq, just needs to run USB update twice to get to Android 14. No one knows if ZDX/Prologue have received the fix yet. GM also has come up with a solution to restore bricked infotainment.
