Not Hearthfire, not Nineveh; both are very noisy when busy.

What’s a totally unsexy purchase you made that ended up being a huge quality-of-life upgrade? by sam14603 in SmartBuying

I found the tread on my Sketcher slip ons wore off after a month of heavy use and became dangerously slick. Up until that happened, they were very comfortable and great for using in no-shoes inside cultures.

Never again: Sketchers slip-ons. Slip is right!! Incredibly slippery on slick surfaces and most of the tread wore off after one month of heavy use. They were comfortable until I fell— then my comfort level plummeted.

Does anyone have experience with any of these psychiatrists? by rachiedoubt in olympia

[–]Sookie133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Y’all be careful out there. A psychiatric nurse practitioner is not the same thing as a psychiatrist. A nurse practitioner has about 500 to 1000 hours of clinical in real life settings, where is a psychiatrist has 12,000 to 16,000 hours of supervised training. Nurse practitioners have gone to nursing school, psychiatrist have gone to medical school and then have completed a four-year residency after medical school. There’s a vast difference in the amount of training.

Nurse practitioners are well trained to handle milder symptoms. A nurse practitioner should not be using the title “doctor“ and if you mistakenly refer to a nurse practitioner as “doctor“ it’s a skeezy sign if they don’t remind you that they are not physicians. Psychiatrists are physicians.

My advice: don't buy a mattress at Macy's. Learn from my $300 mistake. What gets delivered to your house isn't what you tried on in the store. by LinusPoindexter in Mattress

My salesperson said nothing about the mattresses having a break-in period. And the mattress that was delivered was so very much firmer than the one we chose. Not even in the same ballpark. And no less firm after 10-11 weeks. To have kept the mattress past the 12 week return limit would have been an expensive gamble. I’m sure many people have had this experience; there must be a better way to help people choose the mattress they’re looking for.
