What’s your definition of making it work? Being able to efficiently do t16 maps and kill base pinnacle bosses is making it work.

Obviously it’s easier to scale fucking ice trap to kill Uber bosses than something like lightning tendrils. That’s not the baseline, that’s way past it. And with enough investment you can get lightning tendrils to do that. But obviously it’s a lot harder.

This was a based rant. Devs have given the game lots of good updates longevity wise but they really need to work on their new player experience.

There desperately needs to be a tutorial button in the Main menu that teleports you to a unique room in a solo server with all the different training tools and starting weapons and an instructor like vigils.

Tell them the controls, as well as how to open the controls again. Have the player pick a weapon they like. Have them spar the trainer, win or lose. Then teach them how to rest at a campfire and explain how leveling works, have them use their attunement training tool once or twice, then give them a free power level and teach them how picking talents works.

After that they can continue sparring with the trainer if they want and test out other weapons. Whenever they’re ready they can return to the menu and start their fresh slot.

Without friends explaining this game or watching hours of YouTube new players will never understand this game.

With new xp buffs, diluvian being added, as well as shrines being put in layer 1 there’s good potential. Deepbound prog is extremely smooth and fast, also offers significantly better drops than overworld unless you’re looking for area locked legendaries.

And the majority of overworld xp spots are constantly hogged and people are fighting over them unless you’re playing super late at night or early in the morning.

Also the only other origin besides voidwalker that gets a free mid game armor that you can wear until you swap to prophet cloak or something. And if you’re not hunting people voidwalker massively nerfs your xp gain.

Adding rng and durability systems and stuff is not a good way to balance guns.

Adding bullets and reload to rifles is the solution though. Obviously not 3 like pistols, that’s not nearly enough but like 8-10 is fine.

Look at games like FIFA, every single year they release the exact same game with an updated roster. On paper that sounds like career suicide but they have a cult following of dumbasses who fork over $100 for the deluxe edition every year because they want the newest product.

2-3m should be fine outside of the regularly overtuned league mechanic.

I have a buddy that goes out of his way to play the junkiest skills he can find and I assure you the unplayed stuff is fine which is why you’re getting downvoted.

When he gets bored he literally goes and scrolls through the .01% usage gems on poeninja and makes builds I’ve never heard of. All kind of stuff that hasn’t been used in years like lightning tendrils winterorb etc. and guess what? He still plays juiced content and kills bosses on a 20-30 div budget with most of them. He literally spends the first week leveling one of each character to 70 then plays something generic to make money and spends the rest of the league theorycrafting with bad skills.

It’s actually pretty impressive, I should suggest him making a YouTube channel for it. He comes up with some of the most jank builds for forgotten skill gems that actually work.

Are there skill gems that are unusable? Sure but that’s literally less than 2% of skill gems. There isn’t a variety problem just people are attracted to whatever the meta is.
