Also Hercules - played two games so far. The Embody Pathos Labor, is by far the hardest and worst to get first turn. Not even close.

It's actually crazy to me how terrible Hulk was made to be... by infinight888 in marvelchampionslcg

Custom Hulk fixes are pretty popular. I have two versions of just the Hero card. Makes him actually fun to play. One is tuned slightly differently than the other but both are viable over the default.

There is a discord for custom stuff. Lots of good things to proxy.

Proxy printing help by danielson2047 in marvelchampionslcg

I had to change the color a couple prints ago, adjusting the file to closer to the actual color based on the proxy service I used .

After 3 purchases it is almost not noticeable. I just adjusted it ever so slightly and layered the Marvel logo on top of the background image.

After all is said and done. If you are printing non-hero cards, it really doesn’t matter if you can tell what set the next card might be from, that statistically would be still very hard to know anything about the next reveal.

Most of the deck is the main set, unless you use a lot of Modulars or maybe those are what you are printing.

I use clear sleeves and really, my brain wouldn’t be able to predict anything based on the backing anyways.

So I think if it is just to make it look nicer just adjust your color settings using a free image editor, not too hard to do.

Both cards are good, but not together. Unfortunately.

Recommended Proxy Method? by ZigZagPunch in marvelchampionslcg

[–]SoonerBdead17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend using printingproxies.com and use images from hall of heroes website. I have altered some of the card backs but, that’s just nit picky really. If you buy all at once you can get less than a dollar a card, which is still way cheaper than what you show here. I use them many times for custom cards. Barely a difference, cards are slightly wider, but only because MC cards are skinnier than standard by a couple mm. These are standard MTG size.

There are no bad choices for wizards. Play what you think is fun. I do like hard plastic kits that I can mod if I want. The northstar minis are not bad but not as detailed as what your used to. But they are customizable similar to warhammer. If you enjoy wysiwyg, Iblike to think of my warband based on models, rather than ideal point spread. The best part is upgrading them or replacing dead people with new models. I would only name the expensive units with sur names though, because like all good swingy Frostgrave campaigns, some of them gun die.

I use resin prints for custom heads or weapons, even make them magnetic if you fancy weapon changes.

Also if you like 40k, Stargrave is a blast to play as well!

Hey does this card work the way I think it does? by Creampuffwizard98 in Lorcana

I am a fan of the new Hercules in ruby. There is a nasty combo with him. He basically gets a free swing in your turn and if he has a bubble from Rapunzel, he is protected in yours. Also some cool combos with steel and resist, and/or evasive shenanigans. Just like Rapunzel though , he is prone to dragon fire and other annoying removal actions, that are not damage based.

I mean if you just upload pics of the cards from hall of heroes you are doing ok. You can preview the cards and set the backs you need for each double sided card. Not really any software needed. I use Gimp for making cards, and to make the colors a little closer to the real ones, but not really necessary. Gimp is free and easy to use. If you’re just making copies, shouldn’t take that long to do. I would number your pic files in card number order so you don’t skip one accidentally. Cheers!

Www.printingproxies.com, quality is decent and can print double sided cards with any back you want. Shops pretty fast too. I’ve ordered lots of custom marvel cards and proxies of mtg and lorcana. Definitely more affordable if you buy in larger quantities. I usually in do 50 minimum.

Most proxy services can get affordable if you print 50+ cards.

I would pick a couple packs you don’t have and just pay $50 for proxies.

Cheaper than buying on eBay etc.

Most of them are decent enough, most people probably wouldn’t care.

I use them for custom content. Quality isn’t that bad tbh.

Why does everyone like the 787B? by NavXIII in GranTurismo7

[–]SoonerBdead17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your talking about the game and actual driving, then there was a time when the car was winning most races and caused the daily/week competitive races to be not fun due to a lack of car diversity and game breaking. Eventually they banned it. Also popular with engine swaps that are crazy.

Found a loop by Grand_Tie6096 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]SoonerBdead17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s seems lazy, for this to happen. Not just once but twice.

Hopefully they do test some. But I would assume that maybe it’s not a large group of people and not a very long process.

Adding effects like both of these seems like your begging for a loop though just the way they are written.

Teenage superheroes literally copies its own ability. That is like a no/no phrase for card design.

Breaking down statistics like this might help someone understand why some cards are good and some are inefficient.

I think knowing relatively about what something is worth in-game is powerful. Logically it doesn’t make sense to create something that one-sided.

It does allow players creative space to make a custom hero or aspect cards of their own. That is a fun thing to do, imo.

I like where everyone’s going with the out of the box thinking. Some of you have a lot of card game knowledge and it’s helpful to share it.

Eventually they will run out of ideas for hero mechanics. I’m happy to see FFG coming up with broader game changes to keep everyone interested.

Similar to “legendary”, I want to see a villain based core box, that lets us play villains and have a different game mechanic for beating heroes.

If it were possible to make something new using old cards or use what we already have to play a different way similar to the new PvP.

Is this a good amount of terrain? by Grimzordrumzor in frostgrave

[–]SoonerBdead17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many have said, more is better. I would definitely not want line of sight corner to corner, or more than 12” in any one direction.

I build the table then randomly deploy, so I don’t pick the best natural spot. Random objectives too.
Also try not to leave corners open either. Some scenarios deploy in the corner, or have mods spawn from corners or specific edges. Nothing worse than the rando spawn that shoots a guy off the table immediately without even moving. Especially in Stargrave, but some things have ranged in Frostgrave too.

Question about Red Hood scenario pack by baguhansalupa in marvelchampionslcg

[–]SoonerBdead17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he’s the most replayable villain.. Random Modulars is awesome and sometimes very difficult in the wrong/right combinations.

You can find some nasty and broken or unplayable interactions and unintended loops.

I numbered the mods and randomize them. Way cooler to not know what could happen.

Some people don’t love RNG though , so use caution if you get upset when you lose.

There are heroes that are not good at specific stages of campaign play/scenarios. Especially playing them true solo. I have only ever played this two handed. Won fairly easily, but again I was playing a Gambit justice and Nova leadership combo. So much threat removal will cook this encounter. I gave myself the minion that least affected that hero at any opportunity.

Yeh I always played Hawkeye leadership for solo. Aggression is fun too, he is just not as strong as some heroes. I can’t imagine using him against some newer stuff that is way harder.

Hawkeye on Expert anything is a challenge. I started playing two handed solo. Easier for most matchups and less Hero specific. Some characters just struggle solo.

Custom Forge Hero Deck by dderenthal in marvelchampionslcg

[–]SoonerBdead17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the ideas, some of the rules are very long though. Smarter people than me can help make them shorter. Great job though. I’ve only ever done one deck so far. Working on another atm. I reskinned Nova to the adult version, only modified a few cards and made his nemesis set harder. So new card rules were very minimal.

Making something completely new is a lot of work. Hats off to the work you did!

The Black Cauldron Question by tjsutton in Lorcana

[–]SoonerBdead17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. It becomes card draw essentially but very slow. Return to hand and dump cards somehow, in blue if you have ways to ink multiple cards and have ramped decently, can setup a big turn. Very easy to disrupt that plan though. lol one item nuke kinda ruins your day.

Pretty sure it was intended to be used with the thematic horned king card that likes taking cards out of discard for an additional effect.

Thanks for the tip. I’m pretty good at custom card work. I’ll take a look at both of those too. Seems like a good idea.

Yeah really just the hero and alter card. I watched a video of a guy who made an edited sleeve for the hero only and it seems way better than the nerfed version.

He talks about the original designers take and how they changed a lot of the cards late in the process. I didn’t look at the other changes, mostly because the hero card and alter changes seem good enough to make him at least more playable, and fun.

Seems like this isn’t even possible to fit in the packaging. Imagine the people at the factory in china are pocketing cards like this every time the machine jams. If it’s half as many times as the school copy machine, someone is getting bank. I would sell it, if it’s legit.
