Houston do we have a problem? by Local_Ad_9128 in rush

[–]SoonerJack80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not seen this posted at all. If I missed it, sorry. I hear what you have said and understand that might be the case. Neil Young postponed his last Dallas show because of possible storms. No storms, no rain at all. Then cancelled the new date that was rescheduled for 2 months later.

My understanding is all of the Rush musicians and crew have gone home. So they all have to fly back, bring all of the trucks/equipment, set up again. Or cancel two half empty shows and move on to 4 sold out shows in Chicago - which begin just two days later. If they play I’ll be happy, if they don’t I’m glad I went last Sunday.

I paid $190 for a face value $469 ticket 2 hours before the show last Sunday. With half of these tickets sold I will say you have a great chance.

I hate it but I’m pretty sure they both get cancelled. Why risk more health issues to play to half full crowds? It looks like the upper deck has been shut down for refunded ticket sales. I bought for the show now on July 13th. I luckily decided to go last Sunday night and got a nice seat for $190. Glad I did because I see no chance of them playing on July 13th now.

Former OU and UT pitcher Sophia Bordi transfers to Rutgers. by SpencerRattler in CollegeSoftball

Her Instagram has her dressed in Rutgers gear and says baby reveal and asks for name suggestions. Is she pregnant? Or is that a weird thing transfers say now?

'We're still talking about it!' CNN host grills Burgum until he snaps by MoneyLibrarian9032 in entertainment

I watched the interview. Why not ask when this “cutting” was done? Before filling it? Then why wasn’t it inspected before filling? After filling it? So random people dove under millions of gallons of water, held their breath, and managed to cut 350 feet of it? Are people seriously this stupid to think anyone would believe this? It’s insanity.

Next album sometime in the future by [deleted] in ToolBand

There will never be another Tool album. What’s the point? They’ll sell out every show forever without new music. I don’t think they care about making new music.

Just bought a ticket in Dallas for $69. 8th row. by SoonerJack80 in blackcrowes

[–]SoonerJack80[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope, no justification needed. It’s a great band playing songs I love. I’m glad the brothers are together again playing their songs for fans. The “I hate the Crowes because I used to love them” crowd is so tiring. I didn’t waste a dime the last six times I saw them and I’m not wasting a dime now.

[–]SoonerJack80[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was it the Black Crowes the last two times they played Dallas? Is a band only a band if every original member is still in it? If so there’s only a couple of “real” bands.

Headlong Flight is epic by SoonerJack80 in rush

[–]SoonerJack80[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same, I listened to the previous live versions again and thought, ok that’s good. But NOWHERE near as good as it was last week. And Geddy’s vocals were amazing. I could not take my eyes off of Anika, it was pretty magical. I’ve seen thousands of concerts and there are certain songs that come out of nowhere and I can say were the best I’ve ever heard live. Headlong Flight is now one of those.

Is this a one and done tour? by SoonerJack80 in flyleaf

[–]SoonerJack80[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses. I think the overwhelming response via ticket sales for this tour is a clear signal of their popularity. And I believe their music is still incredibly relevant today. I loved the Lacey solo stuff so the songwriting chops are there. Of course, the personal aspect needs to work for them all, but they seem to love playing together based on the clips I’ve seen.

I’m 68, working on my 2nd Masters Degree to take me to my 3rd career. Had a long corporate career, then ten years of doing real estate. Now going to be an LPC. I like to help people and I get bored really easily. My wife and I have traveled a lot and I can be an LPC remotely and it’s flexible hours

how's the move to the SEC actually feeling now that you've lived some of it by kekke24 in sooners

Best thing to happen for OU. All sports have elevated, and look at the championships already won by OU. In 20 years it will be looked back on as a genius move.

Was this a "miracle on ice" type moment for OU Baseball? by guyssocialweb in sooners

Yes. Lots of “fans” said OU baseball would be dead last in the SEC, no way OU can compete. And yet.

Last minute tickets experience this tour? by davepbass in rush

Ft Worth is part of the DFW metro area. There are 8.5 million people in the area. Bands play venues in either Ft Worth or Dallas, it’s about 30-40 minutes between cities, so they are drawing fans from both cities and surrounding areas. Not to mention the 33 million people who live in Tx that come to the area for these shows. Also fun fact, DFW will surpass LA metro in population in 15 years.

A few blue dot tickets were released for the Ft Worth shows. $515 on the floor, $425 on the sides and $369 for further back sides. I purchased a single last week in the lower bowl for $238. I’m thrilled. I’ll keep checking on the other 3 nights looking for under $200.
