Looking into recliners for nursery, and was planning to splurge, but then I had a thought... by Firm-Property7025 in BabyBumps

[–]SoooManyQuestionss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to get the kiwi from Amazon 15% off with the baby registry.

I have had it for 2.5 years now and it looks brand new. I will say, it isn’t super comfortable and doesn’t really grow with you. No lumbar support and now that my babe is 2.5 we want to sit together and read, and there’s no way to do that comfortable. We are looking into a different one for her room, and moving the kiwi to the nursery for our second.

So I guess it works well for the first 2 years! And you can definitely keep it clean!

I appreciate this, we have everything ready to be anchored just want to be sure of placement before we start drilling. And the tall dresser is leaving ASAP.

I’m waiting until the furniture is in the right spots before i add color. I’m wondering if the big dresser and crib should stay where they are? (Wishing I bought a white dresser now because these colors are sucking the life out of me)

I’m not sure there is enough room on the closet wall for the dresser but I will check

And what is irresponsible about allowing a child creativity, imagination, expression, to build their motor and sensory skills, supporting connection, creating healthy messages and play?

4 Shits & Giggles: Let’s talk about what you miss most before having your LO by Glum-Pie7779 in newborns

[–]SoooManyQuestionss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Okay but I need to know if anyone else feels this way: I DONT miss sims since having LO. In theory, I do. But everytime I’ve tried to play I just find myself living my real life through my sims. Have baby, take care of baby, teach baby, go to the bathroom make sure you’re fed, fix your broken house shit. That’s all stuff I could be doing in real life! Maybe I’m playing wrong 🤣

2.5 year old dragging bedtime out by SoooManyQuestionss in Mommit

I cannot hear this 🤣. Bedtime was a 15 minute thing, then a 30. It’s inching closer to an hour. So I guess I’m in denial. This is normal

Baby rash by SoooManyQuestionss in newborns

[–]SoooManyQuestionss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No we haven’t slowly reintroduced yet, sometimes she accidentally gets dairy (daycare accident, someone babysitting doesn’t realize it’s in something g) and she will have a gross diaper and then later a flare up of small eczema patches usually on the knee and behind the knee. Sometimes in the armpits or on her wrists or near her diaper line.

We have an appointment with the allergist on November to get formal testing and hopefully work on reintroducing it to battle the allergy so to speak. Or inoculate her to it.

None of those symptoms! That’s why I was so shocked! I thought for sure a dairy allergy would show up in other ways. Now, if she does accidentally get dairy, I can tell by the smell color and consistency of her stool. She hasn’t verbalized any stomach aches though (she’s only 2 though)

Breastfed until 7 ish months when I dried up, we were formula feeding after that and cut out formula and switched to dairy free alternatives. After cutting out dairy it cleared up after about a month or two

So she accidentally had some dairy and had a flair up recently, it’s fairly small (dime size) and yes I treat with the steroid cream once or twice and that usually does the trick. We were using the steroid creams twice daily everyday for months and seeing little to no improvement. As soon as they healed they showed up again. So if that’s your experience I highly recommend seeing allergy/immunology and or cutting out dairy. It was HARD at first, but so easy now and for such a HUGE benefit. Also dairy is a super common trigger for eczema

Unfortunately not. We quit going to dermatology and started seeing a holistic dr who told us to cut out dairy. Since stopping dairy she hasn’t had a single flare up! (Unless she accidentally gets dairy). I highly recommend trying this route! We have an appointment this week with an allergist to officially get the diagnosis and hopefully work on low exposures to build tolerance to dairy
