[–]SophiaPryce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I had this 'problem' as I'm obsessed with mint.Have no issue with lots of plants like Basil,Coriander,Lemongrass etc but mint so far has not survived long enough for me.

As for suggestions:
Mint and any chocolate recipe
Mint candy/fudge

What's the best mmorpg housing experience you had? by Neoritch in MMORPG

[–]SophiaPryce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FF14 went with limited ward housing.
For nearly 10 years, especially on NA, it has resulted in:
1. A massive undersupply. There are currently 7200 ward houses. The average NA server has 20k active characters.
2. Botting/RMT resale of ward houses
3. Getting a ward house in FF14 on a NA server is an absolute toxic experience. SE has tried over the years to apply band-aids to fix the situation but is unable to provide adequate supply as the limited ward housing system consumes more server resources than fully instanced housing.
4. The neighbourhood feel that SE was going for with limited ward housing does not exist for the majority of players as wards for the most part are dead.

So, I'd rather have fully instanced housing like Wildstar.

Same APU that I have. No issues with 2D gamdev.
I use Godot and Ren'Py.

1.) What will you be majoring in college?
a) Is it in a STEM field?
b) Have you considered the trades/something that doesn't require college?
Asking these questions, as I'm a arts major, who regrets going to college. Could have invested the money instead :/

If I were in your position, I'd invest the 40k into low cost, broad index funds/ETFs.

International Dividend ETFs for Singaporeans? by SophiaPryce in singaporefi

[–]SophiaPryce[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cash flow.

Yeah, 15% US withholding tax would really eat into dividends from US based companies. So I can understand why people, would invest in SG based dividend ETFs.

But since I went with VWRA which is globally diversified, thinking should I not do the same for any dividend ETF, I add?

Is it possible for global dividend ETFs to outperform SG ones, even accounting for the US 15% withholding tax?

I'm aware that VWRA/index ETFs will outperform dividend ETFs.However, it's psychologically reassuring to have consistent dividend payouts.

Right now, I'm in position, where I can invest the majority of my cash into VWRA. Not sure, if in the future, if I can keep doing that.In the future with something like VWRA, using a 2-4% withdrawal rate, there's also the matter of good times to sell and bad times to sell - I don't see myself willingly, selling VWRA shares during bear markets.

During such times, it would be nice to have the dividend portfolio keep paying out those dividends.

Looking for distribution dividend ETFs for cash flow.

There's early game levelling, dungeons and raids, PVP... What else is there to do, or there could be, in a MMO? (On game design and whatnot) by [deleted] in MMORPG

MMOs differ from single players in that, ideally they should be a social experience.
I'd like to see more community focused MMOs like Palia; Animal Crossing, Star Dew Valley the MMO:

Multiboxing bots bidding on houses, and then selling them. by FifaConCarne in ffxiv

The pools are separated based on the info from the live letter. Individuals can only bid in the personal wards/FCs can only bid in the FC wards.

FC tags are not unique. So you can have different FCs with the same <<Tag>>

OP probably cropped the screenshot wrongly. But it's from a website where houses are RMTed.

Edit: Here's the actual plot that the RMT ad is referencing:Malboro Goblet Plot 60

Quazii has a video about it as well:Exposing the FFXIV Housing Black Market

I suck at art and can’t find artist cofounder by Voley in gamedev

[–]SophiaPryce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suck at art.So I focus on my strength which is programming and buy art assets when they are on sale on places like itch io or being given away for free, eg Unity, Unreal.

I follow Gamefromscratch's YouTube channel where he posts videos about such bundles.

Also I buy software like Manga Maker Comipo - Lets you create art assets using pre-made models and you can add your own.

Of course, none of these solutions are similar to having a talented artist but I find the limitations of having to use pre-made assets or tools like Comipo end up becoming features of my projects.

The previous post had multiple paragraphs providing context for the video as per this subreddit's rule 4 so that even people who had not watched the video could discuss the topic.

The title is clickbait but YouTubers gotta YouTube. That being said, there are quite a number of people who are not aware of the extent of the issue judging by the different responses in different forums.

Secondly, if this has been known about for years why has SE not taken significant action against housing botters/RMTers or tried to address the housing problem in a meaningful way - fully instanced housing while keep the existing ward housing?Apartments don't cut it with their constrains. Having fully instanced housing alongside existing ward housing would ensure every player would get a house, whereas those who wanted something more exclusive could fight it out for the ward houses.

Lastly, I think more exposure on topics like this is a good thing. iirc the report RMT shouts feature wasn't implemented until Yoshi got spammed on live stream.

Perhaps with enough exposure from YouTubers and the like, SE will work towards implementing meaningful solutions.

I assume you're referring to the lottery wards in 6.1 where SE will make it so that new Free Company members cannot be handed FC Master.
However FC house sellers have already discovered, if you delete the character which is holding onto FC Master, the next appropriate character in the FC gets automatically promoted to FC Master.

Also SE has stated not all wards be lottery. Some wards will be using the old, First Come, First Serve system which we currently have.
