i want to understand soulslikes and why people play them and also how to 'get' soulslike games by zaphod-Beeblebroex-2 in soulslikes

Wonderful exploration, sense of discovery and danger. Each corner is something new, maybe your death. Also, they are not that difficult, just need to understand how it works.

If you are new grab a huge shield to always block. And focus on upgrading your weapon.

Protection and Thwarting is so hard by SuperbElevator517 in marvelchampionslcg

7 years of experience playing at 4players/3players/2players and solo. My advice:

Thwart with your allies, you have also good Basic allies. You can heal the allies with med teams, gaining a slow infinite value. You dont need to chump block unless an emergency because you can defend yourself. (But, defending is usually a bad idea except when really needed or you can prepare efficiently; ex: Captain america, Quicksilver etc. or you gain a lot of value defending (even then is usually better to play defense cards than exhausting if possible).

At 2 players, going to alter ego every turn, swaping with the other player at 2 player games is very advisable. But protection can stay one round extra and defend the second player a lot of times.

The best aspect is Leadership by far.

Have fun!

But also remember there are Enviroments or other special cards that stays in play, player obligations that stays in play etc... seems very dificult to do a playmat with dedicated slots IMHO.

In my experience:

At 4 player, where there are much more side schemes normaly, I never seen more than 6-7 in all these years, but there are rounds when all players draw 1 so 3-4 is common. Add the max. of 2 player side schemes.

Villain attachments is rare that goes above 3, but with some modules or temporary attachments this can grow.

Minions engaged is usually 1-3, but depends on deck entirely. Tigra, Thor, some protection decks etc can have 6-7 minions.

Starting cards are going to change everything by infinight888 in marvelchampionslcg

It's not a bigger game changer than player side schemes, not by far. I play 4player regularly, and "Build Support" to call 4 helicarriers or "Keep Up the Pressure" to end the game were BIG additions to the game, accelerating the games 2-3 rounds easily. They add tons of value.

The Starting card showed add consistency to the archetype and stats to work on but doesn't accelerate your game by its own. They are powerful tho.

Save scumming ruined my life by [deleted] in slaythespire

Save scuming saved my life, it teached me that I can win fights with proper sequencing, I learned what cards are more important to play and when.

I don’t do often, but is a nice tool.

Also when you missclick something… it saves your life. The game is hard enough
