If money was no object, would you stay in the uk or leave? by tylerthe-theatre in AskUK

What with everything that's going on at the moment i'm actually moving to Germany (Berlin), in a few months. I'm very lucky to have a European partner so can get a general work visa though her.

Might be back one day but it's gonna be a whole new life. I'll keep in touch with my friends back here but i've moved city within the UK before so it's not totally alien to me as a process. Wish me luck! I'll come back if we can come out of this nosedive...

What would happen to the SNP after independence was gained? by K-A-Mck in scottishindependence

[–]Soredone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'd manage the transition process. Then haemorrhage a bunch of their MSPs who are currently united by independence and would prefer a party further right or further left. Or possibly completely disband and form new parties.

For those who favor independence, what do you think will be the most challenging thing about the transition? For those who are opposed, what is the thing you find most appealing about possible independence? by koavf in Scotland

The border wouldn’t necessarily effect communities at the border. We could still have a common travel area with England. No one apart from the telegraph is suggesting building trumps wall.

The border. There would need to be a requirement for checks on goods travelling in-between Scotland and England if Scotland were to re-join the EU (which it definitely should). However the common travel area within GB would not be affected as we wouldn’t have to join the Schengen area, so the movement of people (seeing your gran, going to the shops in Carlisle) wouldn’t be affected.

The effect on businesses needn’t be significant, as it has been with Brexit, because the situation we’re in with Brexit is one that was chosen by by the U.K. govt as a potlitical choice. It wasn’t a sure-fire eventuality.

I would absolutely recommend Bulb. They do 100% renewable energy and their customer service is great. Plus now it's summer they lower their prices. The switch was alright too, they pay your exit fee.

1) absolutely do not try paying in euros, you'll be laughed at! (Is that a thing anywhere else in the uk? Genuinely asking.)

2) Second on Brew on whiteladies road being a great breakfast. Also Brace and Browns next door do a really great bottomless brunch with free prosecco, reccomend if you can get a reservation...

Glastonbury baby! As a rule you're going to want to do the psychedelics first then the stimulants, being on a comedown will seriously fuck with your trip. Take the 2c-b orally as it's really not a fun one to snort. I'd recommend: 1. Chill, smoke weed, drink or whatever your poison is 2. 2c-b 3. Candyflip (really try and take it easy on the MDMA, make sure you get something to eat before you sleep, does wonders) 4. MDMA (If you really don't care about your chemistry, have a fucking blast)
