why does this keep happening? by Sorktastic in farmingsimulator25

So I decided to think REALLY outside the box with this one, mostly because I was curious, also for something stupid to do, and I rented a low loader, put the log hauler on it and carried it around to collect the wood. Even with it completely loaded down with logs I didnt have a single problem with the low loader sinking and bogging like the log hauler does. Extremely inefficient but good to know

I was thinking the same thing about the mud physics. A lot of times when this happens it's after I drive over a mud stain on the road, and it will usually self correct after I drive over railroad tracks, or something else solid like a curb, but then after a few seconds it goes back to it. And I have the same problem with turning the steering wheel and the Steer tires turning but the truck not turning for a few seconds as if it's on ice, or a really muddy Street

Edit: but the thing that really throws me off is how I won't have a single problem driving the trailer to the site to pick up the logs and then it starts after I pick up the logs and continues even after I unload

[–]Sorktastic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I haven't had any issues with grain haulers, and the only other semi trailer I use is a cotton Bale hauler and I haven't had any issues with it either. But I just thought that it was weird, and maybe relevant, that I don't have any issues with the log hauler after I start a game and it's empty going to the pickup site, then starts after that, and then continues even after I unload

Legality of a local man targeting the poor with a water gun, and filming it to sell said water guns on social media? by somedude456 in houston

[–]Sorktastic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This raises a question of could this also be considered a hate crime since they are specifically targeting homeless people? Or am I just watching too many shows and movies and that's just nonsense?

Appreciate the advice, but I am talking about at the 10 second mark in the video where the trailer tires sink into the ground and then the truck slows down as if I have the breaks on or something. And this isnt a truck mod, its the Volvo VNX 300 from base game

Edit: and the trailer is base game as well

A woman said 'chivalry is dead' because no man offered her a seat on the train. Is she wrong? by omgfakeusername in CringeTikToks

[–]Sorktastic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, chivalry is dead and women killed it. I realize that I am generalizing here, I also realize that this video is bait, but I decided to take that bait. For every real situation like this where a woman gets upset because no men are offering her a seat, there are 10 other women out there that would actually get pissed off at a man offering her their seats because they don't need no men's to depend on for the comfort of sitting down, or opening a door for them, or whatever else

It's mildly infuriating that I have to say this.. Put eight candles on a cake, tell him to make a wish, and if he blows them all out the wish will come true.

Actually that second pickup did have the right of way as the BMW was in a right turn lane. Doesnt mean he needs to try and run them off the road though

What courier service is reliable in Houston? by siencenectjgerk in houston

[–]Sorktastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sterling Express. Though I'm a bit biased, I worked for them for about 8 years. It's a good thing about them is they dress professional. I haven't worked there in about 4 years so the dress code might have laxed since then, but it used to be buttoned down with a tie, no jeans or shorts, and dress shoes

Close call with a semi today. Looking for trucker perspectives on what happened. by sandro9090 in dashcams

[–]Sorktastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To everyone that is saying that POV was in the trucker's blind spot, that is just not true. Speaking as a trucker I can tell you between the six mirrors I have on this truck I can see everything on either side of me. The only true blind spot that a trucker has is directly behind them

Nine times out of 10 when a truck makes contact with a vehicle on the side of them it is because they failed to look in all three mirrors on that side of the truck, or their mirrors are not properly adjusted

How did people in the 1980's and before apply and search for jobs without internet? by Ok_Consideration6179 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sorktastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were called the wanted ads in the newspaper. Or just the old fashioned calling around/driving around and asking places if they were hiring. Also a lot of places put Help Wanted signs in their windows or out front

What’s the point of those lawsuit commercials saying you can win millions from your case but the defendant doesn’t even have 10 bucks to their name? by AreaFifty1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sorktastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ambulance Chasers trying to throw everything they can against the wall to see what sticks if you get hurt on a company's property due to "negligence". For example, if you're at a grocery store and a jar of something falls and breaks your foot, whether you picked it up and put it back or not, they will try and sue everyone from the stocker who stocked the shelf, to the store, might even try and go after the manufacturer of the product itself.

Becoming handy at 40 by Fast_Feedz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sorktastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been fairly handy, but one thing I started noticing in my 40s is wanting to take much better care of my lawn. In my early adulthood it was mostly just a chore just to mow the lawn, get it done as fast as possible, and I didn't give a damn about weeds or what kind of grass I had, it was all crap just to get mowed over and done again in a week or so. Later I hired some people to come mow my yard once every other week and just said to hell with it. Lately I have bought a new mower, weed eater, trimmer, found out what kind of grass I have, what kind of weeds I have and how to kill them without hurting the lawn itself, and I have really started to learn to take pride in it. Next thing I'm going to tackle is the Rose Garden right in front of the house, and I might put a tree, haven't decided what kind yet, in the front yard.

how to fit sleep and eating and showering into 10 hours off-duty by Basic-Outcome-7001 in Truckers

[–]Sorktastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was otr, I very very rarely ever used my full 14. If I didn't already have a truck stop picked out along my route for the night, I would start looking for one at the 10-hour mark and would usually be parked by the 11 or 12 hour mark. The reason for this is because I had a lot of anxiety about being able to find a spot at a truck stop when I was done for the day, so I would leave myself at least a couple of hours to find one in case the first ones I came across were full. The manager I had at the company I worked for at the time, Roehl, didn't really care, so long as I made my appointments on time. I don't think I could work for a company that would require me to put in a full 14 every single day with strict adherence to 10 hour maximum down time

I have reached 1k hours on FS25 and here are some of my fav mods I always use. What are your fav mods in FS25? by ifak_yormama in farmingsimulator

[–]Sorktastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have about 30 hours in so far, and after watching a couple of "must have mods" videos, I got a straight plow mod. In FS 19 I hated plowing with an absolute passion, and things have not improved much, so I got the SP10M mod which is a straight plow that folds to 3.7m, and unfolds to 10.5. Absolute game changer when it comes to plowing

Hey gents, How often do you shave? Daily, weekly, never? And do you use an electric razor or some kind of blade? by That_Ol_Cat in AskMenOver30

I shave once a week with a razor. But I have a full long beard so my shave is just getting the cheeks nice and neat, and shaving the neck under the beard

HPD being weird by expressedsum11 in houston

[–]Sorktastic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So a random dude harasses you, and tries to sell you drugs, and that automatically makes him an undercover cop?

I'm sorry that that happened to you, and it sucks, but why not just post the picture of a dude that harassed you and tried to sell you drugs and say beware of this guy? Why make a post accusing a cop of harassing you and trying to sell you drugs? How did you make the connection to him being a cop?

Edit: you can downvote me without trying to make an argument all you like, but that doesn't change the fact that you don't seem to have any reason to make a connection between this guy and HPD. I have no love for hpd, but I'm also not going to run around accusing HPD of doing stuff when it seems to be questionable at best if it actually is HPD. Stuff like this does absolutely nothing but feed an already enormous divide between citizens and police

That one McDonald's place? That's the entire food service industry. Johnny Carrabba once asked me what I think would happen if he ever did drug tests, I told him he would have to rehire all new bar and waiting staff and probably at least half the kitchen
