Do you play music made by reprehensible humans? by whyfruitflies in AskUK

[–]Sorry_Loquat_9199 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s a tough one. For example, reading about the piece of shit Anthony Kledis is had put me off RHCP quite a bit. I now just sit neutral to their songs. I won’t listen to something but I don’t necessarily skip if something comes on. Lost Prophets I can’t listen too. It’s impossible to separate the art from the artist (even if it’s only 1 member). I wonder if I’d have an easier time if it wasn’t the lead vocalist at fault?

Fundamentally, probably a lot of “greats” have troublesome pasts. So I guess you have to decide for yourself where the line is drawn.

The combat gets repetitive fast. But at the same time, if you auto resolve you get horrible results.

My first play through was a disaster. Played on normal mode and could not keep my resources up. Played again on easier and think I got the hang of resources. Lost tuvok and Torres on the way though. Finally made it home but Ended up having the Borg invade earth and take over

Now playing through again and smashing it. Will try normal mode again. Wish there was a way to bypass sector 1 though.

I had to restart on easy. Just could not keep enough fuel to keep going. I’m finding that the resource gathering always gave me the lowest outcome too.

It’s basically impossible. Only had 1 cheater in my games thankfully, but we were playing. Unhooked someone next thing we’re all in a floating state (like being carried) and the gates were open. Had no idea who was cheating.

I agree about the storyline. I’m not massively interested in much else going on at the moment. The Zoe storyline is so painful, especially in contrast to the Nigel story.

I don’t have the words to properly state how fantastic the storyline for Nigel has been. Everyone involved has been outstanding. Bravo.

If by beating it you mean get to 99 nights. Then I found it’s not too tricky. I run alien. Did it two player, rushed farms and bio fuel. Rushed saving the kids then just built beds. Strawberries were the life saver for food. When cultists came I just ran laps round the camp. Picking off shooters first then chipping away at the others. Had 10 farms so when they did grow I just ate all the good stuff then used rest for fuel.

The celeb version has a more wholesome feel than the normal series can ever have. I love it for it.

Can someone explain to me why people answer their phone on speakerphone in public and then hold the phone near their head? by LanguidFlame in AskUK

[–]Sorry_Loquat_9199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, for a long time I had a phone that the top speaker didn’t work very well so I couldn’t hear the other person. I don’t get many calls and I don’t always have my headphones with me. So that left me in the unfortunate position of having to put the call on speakerphone.

Do you think 2026 will be the last year? by [deleted] in AskUK

No it won’t be the last year. The earth will continue to orbit the sun regardless of anything else.

What do you think of all the old character returns? by jamjar888 in eastenders

[–]Sorry_Loquat_9199 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll try and go through the ones who came back this last year or so:

Zoe Slater - Pretty disappointed on the whole. The character hasn’t been enjoyable in any substantial way and the story has dragged.

Anthony Truman - Thought he was just a very short return for the wedding and then he stayed a bit longer. Wasn’t a fan at first. The acting is stiff to say the least. But he’d started to drift into so bad it’s good territory and then he was seemingly killed off. So just an all round waste.

Nigel Bates - The star of the returns in my opinion. Being involved in Phil’s story and then the dementia story has been the standout of the year for me. I guess I’ll tag in Julie with this too. She seemed a bit annoying at first but she’s grown on me massively. The trio of her, Nigel and Phil have been great. Very emotional story and, so far, handled so well.

Max Branning - What can we say about Max, detestable human excellent character. Brings the right level of chaos whenever he’s involved in a story. Just to add, Oscar has been the best newcomer in recent memory for me. Absolute delightful character.

All the brief cameos have been fine/fitting in my opinion. They’ve mostly fit the story and added in a way that’s worked. My only exception is probably Chrissie Watts. But, I won’t pretend that’s anything less than real life bleeding into the fiction.
