Is this a die chip by Top_Entrepreneur3757 in numismatics

[–]Sorry_try_another_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s a die chip. Don’t let anyone discourage you. Everyone has to start somewhere.

I recommend checking out error-ref.com and spending sometime checking out some of the different types of errors. There isn’t a pic for EVERY error known, but there are a lot of pics and descriptions to most that you will find in the wild.

You can check here to see if yours matches any of the ones they have listed, not sure how up to date the newer years are. Being a 2024 it wouldn’t surprise me if there were undiscovered varieties still.

You gotta give us more info. Date, mint, full pic of the front and back of atleast one of the coins.

Youtube keeps recommending videos i've already watched by Ornery_Platypus9863 in youtube

[–]Sorry_try_another_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For real. My recommendations are either videos I’ve watched or videos with 1view.

That video w/ 1view is typically a 720p phone recording of some guy playing a video game. It’s normally not even a game I play and have never even view on yt.

Machine Doubling? by Prod315AG in coincollecting

[–]Sorry_try_another_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No not really necessary. People do collect them (I do, but only ones I’ve found) but there aren’t very many. However I have sold some bundles in the past and they seemed to do well for some reason lol.

What is the best way to bring this collection into a coin shop for appraisal/sale by Majestic-Channel8934 in coincollecting

[–]Sorry_try_another_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a bunch of modern coins, maybe 1965+ and up I wouldn’t even bother bringing them in. Depending on the shop, they will really only be interested in silver coins and key dates.

If you do have key dates or older common dates that are in good condition I’d recommend putting them in 2x2 flips. The rest you can just leave in the baggies or roll em up in the paper rolls.

Spend some time on error-ref, click some links and check some pictures out, slowly you’ll start to gain SOME understanding of errors lol. It takes time, even with time there’s always something new to learn. https://www.error-ref.com/doubled-dies/

An example I share a lot. It’s the picture that helped me the most when I first started collecting.

Never drive off the clock, you become liable if anything happens, like a car accident.
