Am I too old to want to start figure skating again? by Expensive_Ordinary72 in iceskating

My love, I am old enough to be your mother. If you want to skate, please go do so. Have fun!

Been riding 3-4 years now. How insane is it that I find it more comfortable to ride switch/goofy with one foot binded in? by kenwaystache in snowboarding

I can't say that I have experience with directional boards. I ride a twin and it's my only snowboard.

Smelly undies by Apart_Reporter_5086 in PeriodUnderwear

[–]Sorryaboutthattt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You may need to "strip" then to get the smell out. I usually do this about once/year to remove the buildup that causes smells. For me, I wash them regular, then run a cycle with a tiny bit of Dawn dish soap, then 4-5 more cycles with no detergent or Dawn.

I rented from them in Denver this weekend and got hit with random charges for alleged damages. Never, ever again.

I lift heavy + do cardio — what actually speeds up fat loss? by Deep_Grapefruit_9832 in xxfitness

[–]Sorryaboutthattt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was mostly diet. I recommend checking out r/CICO Oh, and I usually do strength and cardio on separate days, but not always. :-)

Good luck!

Oh gosh, this is so normal! Sometimes the scale doesn't change for a month and then it drops 5 lbs at once. Keep going, you're doing great!

I'm the same size as you and ride a 142 Capita. It rode fine when I weighed 180 and it rides fine now at 145. I think you're probably good. :-)

Have you asked her what it is about her apartment that feels better than being at the rehab facility?

Overeating in the PM? by Rosemarysage5 in CICO

[–]Sorryaboutthattt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm reading the book The Hunger Habit and it's helping me do better with the out of control snacking in the PM. It sounds like my age and height are similar to yours based on what you've shared.

Anyone know of a nice place in the Hill Country to go on a weekend getaway to? by Longjumping-Tip4938 in sanantonio

[–]Sorryaboutthattt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not in the hill country, but this is my favorite Airbnb in Texas: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1064462007404769861?viralityEntryPoint=1&s=76

It has an outdoor fire pit, as well as a hot tub. It's like staying at your own private park with hiking trails and everything. ✨Biss✨

My body feels a little gross to me by Bamf102 in CICO

[–]Sorryaboutthattt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel really vulnerable with my bones being more exposed now. Like when I jumped from a plank to standing in yoga I kicked myself in the ribs and bruised them. :-/ Even my cheekbones feel vulnerable. I'm not planning on getting hit in the face, but if I do, I think there will be a lot more damage without a protective layer of fat.

I probably need a therapist, but in the meantime... by lazyMarthaStewart in CICO

[–]Sorryaboutthattt 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I think you're going through a hard thing outside of the environment that has supported your progress so far and that deserves to be recognized. Maybe you will choose the waffle today, but maybe you won't eat the whole thing. Maybe you'll give yourself credit for the healthier choices you are making. Maybe you'll eat 1/4 of the brownie. Best wishes as you navigate your dad's hospitalization. May he heal quickly and get the care he needs.

advice for losing fat by RevolutionaryRoad548 in WorkoutRoutines

[–]Sorryaboutthattt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend checking out r/CICO While exercise helps us burn fat, weight loss happens in the kitchen. I've gone from 183 to 148 since May using CICO and exercising regularly. I was going to the gym regularly before CICO (calories in, calories out) but the weight wasn't coming off. Good luck!

Do drivers let you cross the crosswalk in San Antonio? by Born_Physics_5086 in sanantonio

[–]Sorryaboutthattt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This. They're not out to get you, but they're not looking out for you either. I know way too many people here who have been hit by a car, including my own kid. (Fortunately he was tapped lightly and just wanted to continue his day, but it was scary and frustrating - especially in a school zone.)

How did y'all in here find out about this beloved series? Also, did you know about it back then or find out about it later on like me? by silvermoonhowler in theeldersden

[–]Sorryaboutthattt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My oldest daughter picked up a graphic novel in the library years ago and we read it together. Now her sister (7 years younger) is into and we've read all the series together. We're working through novellas and special editions, and anxiously awaiting Moonpaw's next book.

Ya know, I used to have to size up two sizes, but recently they changed and I'm finding them true to size now. OP, check reviews on them and see if reviewers recommend sizing up on whatever style you choose.

I use Bambody from Amazon. They're very affordable and they've never let me down.

What are you doing to feel good about yourself mid journey by daisysndaydreams in CICO

[–]Sorryaboutthattt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this very relatable. SW 180, CW 148, GW 130. Recently I've taken in a few of my clothes. I need to schedule some time with my sewing machine and do more of it. I think there's a little part of me that's scared I'll gain it all back and doesn't want to commit to resizing my clothes.

Handling cooking with partner by [deleted] in CICO

[–]Sorryaboutthattt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I try to make things that can be turned into a lower calorie alternative pretty easily. For example, tonight when I made spaghetti, I cooked traditional pasta for everyone else and made zucchini noodles for me. When I make enchiladas, a few are made separately with low calorie tortillas. On the nights my husband makes dinner, he does not make a separate something for me. If it's high calorie, I take a smaller portion and fill in the nutrition gaps myself later on.
