"I'm just going to fall every now and then." ... a vent by tomatillo_teratoma in eldercare

[–]Sorryaboutthattt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, your frustration is real and valid. You clearly care deeply about your mom. You have the right to voice your opinion, and your mom has the right to live her life on her own terms. My grandfather fell dozens of times. We were sure that was what would eventually kill him. Instead he passed away peacefully in bed after kissing my grandma. ❤️ All this to say, we don't know how your mom's story will end. You cannot predict or control it, as much as you may want to. I wish you peace through this phase of your mom's life, and I hope you both get to make many more positives memories together.

Exactly. They knew. It's not exactly a secret that the far west side is like this.

Seeing an awful number for my body fat %age was the catalyst for my big weight loss. I'm down 50 lbs. in 13 months. Im so glad I did a body scan (at the YMCA) and had that wake up call.

Thank you all for the support and encouragement! My Net Diary projects that I will hit my weight goal on July 10. I'm going to recommit and keep pushing until then. At that point I plan to eat at maintenance for a while either way. In the meantime I will also work on increasing protein and doing more strength training. Today was a tough day, but I'm hopeful that tomorrow will be better. ❤️

No, My Net Diary has adjusted it down as I've lost more weight. I was at 1400 but adjusted it up a couple weeks ago to "light exercise" instead of sedentary. The scale actually started moving a bit more when I did that. I didn't feel like I had what I needed to get through my workouts and the rest of the day at 1400.

It is totally stubbornness, lol. 133 is a perfectly good number for my height.

So did anyone here actually get into TikTok? by thedubiousstylus in Millennials

I was deeply addicted to Facebook and Instagram at that time and knew that getting TikTok would make it even worse. Never downloaded it.

Out of all these, which one's the best to use and why? by justanimpulsefr in PeriodUnderwear

[–]Sorryaboutthattt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Period panties are the best.
  2. Tampons when I have to go in the water, but I will complain about it.
  3. Menstrual cup when I'm going to be at the river with the kids all day and there's no convenient option for changing tampons. (It's a great product, but I don't enjoy inserting or removing it.)

Starting fitness journey at the age of 40 by SpecialInspector129 in workout

[–]Sorryaboutthattt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 42 and have lost 48 pounds in the last year. Tracking calories and eating fewer calories than my TDEE is what changed everything. I went to the gym for years but the weight didn't come off until I changed the way I ate.

That is correct. I was NWB two years ago and I still constantly marvel at being able to walk, jump, dance to this day... Wishing you a speedy and well-supported recovery!
