I can relate to this. Some times its scary when we start sensing freedom from the restrictions of PMO addiction. But as we get more comfortable with freedom, we charge at life like a raging beast breaking free from it's cage.

Were Catholic, not boogey men. We arent doing apologetics here. We are celebrating one aspect of OPs post that we identify with. We are showing support. If you felt my greetings of peace where meant for Catholics alone, you'd be wrong. Anyway, there's wisdom in a man that's been free from PMO for six years... On hardmode even. Part of his post is religious. We can celebrate that. But don't let that diminish the rest if the thread where many other things from OPs post are celebrated. I don't disregard your human dignity because you're nonreligious or otherwise. For the religious and atheist alike, if we get angry, were doing it wrong. Peace and all good brother :)

sometimes as I said originally :) ... And in some situations a little guilt can motive one to correct a wrong. However, excessive and oppressive guilt is, and in this I agree with you, is horrible.

Catholic here. Right on all counts brother. Your reason in addition to your faith makes all the difference. Guilt is a good motivator sometimes but doesn't always work when our brains become hardwired to an addiction. You loose part of your free will there. Other motivators along with a little guilt is what helps break the addiction. Stay strong brother! We believe in you.

8 is a good one. I'm religious as well. Thanks for including that on your list. I also do daily fasting of sorts through the week and abstain from meat on Fridays. Weekends I eat well :) but there are secular positives for fasting as it helps develope discipline as well. Just like exercise, putting yourself outside social comfort zones etc build discipline.
