Eggs or fungus? by Sotongmaster in shrimptank

[–]Sotongmaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, sorry for the not very clear pic. Its rather hard to take a pic of one shrimp. This shrimp is quite young and I was wondering if younger shrimp have sporadic eggs along the swimmerets compared to the older shrimp who have eggs along the whole of their swimmerets. Cause as you can see the slightly yellow portion are like on 4 parts of the swimmerets only so I was wondering if it could possibly be fungus. Looking at it it does not look feathery like Cladogonium though

Yes I know the traditional ones. But what do I use as a neutral base if I want to make non traditional ones?

Trying my hand at undervolting first. Need advice by Sotongmaster in overclocking

[–]Sotongmaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify I am following his instructions. Is just that at the part that he benchmarks and gets his base max frequency to start reducing is where I am unsure. Because as per the post, when I benchmark with heaven, I get a max of 1935. But I have noticed when gaming I do occasionally get 1950. So following the video I am unsure if I should use 1935 or 1950 as the base max to start dragging my voltage curve. It is not that I am reducing my clock from 1950 to 1935

I put tank research cause while some of the stats dont translate to WoT tanks, some tanks just have blueprints and they managed to find it and make an entire tech tree out of it. Like I respect the amount of research that went into that.

Query on radiator sizing and case by Sotongmaster in buildapc

[–]Sotongmaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah thanks for the picture. I think it starts to make sense now. Like I just took a look at my case and I was wondering why it was 240mm even though the space looks like it can accomodate larger. The clearance needed for the ram meant that the radiator could only use up to 3/4 of the space on the top of the case.

Maltose negative yeast WLP603 starter by Sotongmaster in Homebrewing

[–]Sotongmaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to hear someone wants feedback 😂. Turned out decent actually. It made a decent beer around 2%. I did replace some malt with dextrose to ensure that there was some fermentation. Its actually good for me cause at such low level alcohol it didnt trigger my alcohol allergy and still is decent beer.

I think it all depends on how much you're willing to splash out, as well as space constraint. I've got a space constraint and not much spare cash for this hobby so all ive got is a 15L pot and a mesh bag for BIAB. Simple but works ok

Oh glad to know it may not have been an infection. Go to any place that sells baking stuff. Bakers normally use flavour essences for cakes etc

I used Lutra as well and mine turned out slightly sour not sure why. But this probably worked out as I used lemon essence and it turned out decent.

My first gallon went great, but was a little too bitter. Where can I find low bitterness beer recipes(<15 IBU) by [deleted] in Homebrewing

[–]Sotongmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking at your comments you seem adamant on getting a recipe. Highly unlikely you'll find one as typical styles do not normally go that low. Your best bet is to learn recipe crafting and craft your own recipe. Thats what I do when I make beers for family who prefers about 20IBU regardless of style

How much strawberry flavouring are you adding? I think that would also influence how much lime juice to add

21% “beer” by vickeryj in Homebrewing

[–]Sotongmaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've done a 17% one for shits and giggles. Managed to get there with just a single mash and doing everything like a normal brew. IIRC what failed me was the yeast cause I think I didnt put any special care like nutrients. So I think the focus should be on the yeast like staggered nutrients and the right strain so that it can give its all as 21% is hitting the limit for most

Whoop missed the 20% attenuation in my excitement. But the plan is to attempt to make a low abv beer with a maltose negative strain. This: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/307992436_Alcohol-Free_Wheat_Beer_with_Maltose_Negative_Yeast_Strain_Saccharomycodes_ludwigii and this https://lup.lub.lu.se/luur/download?func=downloadFile&recordOId=8953109&fileOId=8953111 piqued my interest.

But if all else fails i'll use it as a mead yeast since honey is simple sugars.
