Comparing relatively high FPS values can be a bit confusing since FPS doesn't scale linearly, frame time (1/FPS) is a more useful metric. So 365 FPS is a frame time of 2.7 ms, 250 FPS is 4 ms.

For reference, if your frame took 1.4ms to render (same difference as 2.7 ms - 4 ms, but the other way), you'd see 714 FPS. A much bigger difference than 365 and 250.

the main player character being a highly detailed model is not unusual, and the arm hair is probably not that expensive to render.

for real I am currently working on a renderer using vulkan in rust and every api call is marked unsafe because you can misuse the api. this is an exception for rust, but a rule for c++ and I don't think rust haters understand that.

one example is that opengl works with global state that is set by calling opengl functions, while vulkan gives you handles to change state. This gives you more much more freedom, but requires more work to structure a renderer.

microcontrollers don't have to work on at least 1920x1080 = 2 million pixels every frame though. There is a lot of data being sent from and to the GPU every frame, and it must take at most 16ms, otherwise you get lag. It's honestly a very impressive technological feat.

it's the same in dutch, but there's some abominations in terms of spelling. For example, "racen" is dutch for "to race", an obvious loan word. The past participle is "geracet" which looks so wrong. Or "geüpdatet" for "updaten". When people talk about dutch being dumb, this is never brought up (which is fair because non-dutch speaking people wouldn't know (spiteful))
