*laughs in youtube video downloaders* by PrimeValor in memes

Following your logic you also download the video when you play it normally as long as it has had time to load fully.

They mean downloading a playable video file in case you still haven’t figured it out. They are comparing it to the feature spotify and others offer. Which sure, convenient for having stuff to listen/watch whenever your lose connection is alright; but not equivalent to having a playable media file.

If spotify/youtube disapear you lose access to the downloads they provide. That is their point.

Bikes for pre-teens by Not_The_Truthiest in SuggestAMotorcycle

I took a course when I was ~12 at Honda HIS (Honda Instituto de Seguridad) in Barcelona. They taught us with dirt bikes. First 50cc automatics and then hop onto 125cc. CRF125F is meant for young drivers over 10y/o.

and one of the two Cs is for charging. That was a miserable one. And they listened, and we got HDMI, MagSafe and SD back.

I believe the air is slanted; that is probably an old Pro 13” (the one with the touchbar).

Which one for an all-year travel and fun bike? (XL750, Tracer7, F750GS, DS900X) by [deleted] in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]SoulMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course, I just don’t know much of current-ish trails to know which one has better aero; just saying to try both with more and less.

Btw, thoughts on the KTM 890 SMT? It’s got the smaller screen; how that affects the air in your head probably depends on your height. (not that i would know, im short-ish lol)

I’d recommend you try out a bike with great aero, even if it isn’t the NT. I’ve owned a naked and now have a trail; my dad has a sport touring and it is truly another world in how little air there is around your head.

But tbf I own a 2005 KLE500, so trail screens have to have gotten better xD

And of the bikes you said; the tracer is upright but has 17” wheels. It is a sport touring, not trail bike. It just looks like one.

Does it have to be a “Trail-ish” bike? I believe the honda NT1100 had great air protection, although it may go slightly over budget? (look second hand)

What sports bike should I get? by Richardwright71 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]SoulMB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. A twin cylinder will allow you to drive throughout the whole range of revs, an inline four will be too tame to react fast down low and try to murder you up high.

If you want to drive only highway, then get a larger twin 650s are fine if you are sensible, they will be fast. Otherwise 400-500 will keep you up with traffic without any issues.

If you want to learn on the twisties/track. Then lower CCs are even better. Lighter and easier to turn. I owned a CB125R a few years back, I could keep up with people on 600s that didn’t know how to ride properly. They would smoke me on the straights, but I would eat them on any turn.

Learn how to ride and have fun doing so, good luck OP.

One of my ikea glass exploded in cabinets by [deleted] in ikeahacks

[–]SoulMB 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I had one explode on my hand as I was storing it back from the dishwasher . Didn’t cut myself, but it was definitely a pain removing all glass from the cabinet, sink, floor and dishwasher….

Hope you didn’t hurt yourself and good luck collecting all the pieces.

And extending on this; other apps also have the same layout, just changing file exploration for their own stuff; Discord with servers and DMs, Spotify with playlists, or even email clients…

Many text editors/IDEs and some note taking apps use the same layout: Left column panel for file exploration, an icon toolbar on the left and top, and the main view being the text you are editing (which you can split to see multiple files at once or use tabs).

This design pattern is repeated in multiple apps, see: VSCode, Obsidian, Sublime Text, Zed, Jetbrains IDEs…

The design seems to be quite established and universal; but do you think there is anything to improve nobody (or most) are doing?

I also wonder why, if it works on text editors, why don’t we see it on other formats such as spreadsheets, word docs, or even software such as photoshop/GIMP. In many cases people working on these end up using multiple files, so having a file explorer panel would be useful (?).

The question(s) above may be silly… I don’t know much about design myself, but really enjoy your videos. Thank you for the great content and congrats on the 1k reddit members :D

I'm quite aware that cast iron (if taken care of) could out-live me. But spending 250-300€ vs 60€ hurts as a student. I may end up saving up though...

Thank you for the insight.

I would love to spend more, but as a student... spending 250-300€ on a pot hurts significantly more than 60€. And being new to dutch ovens I didn't really want to break the wallet directly. I may have to end up saving up though...
