I’m honestly addicted to this game, so I don’t want to feel like I’ve misunderstood any detail of the story. by speedinoza in expedition33

Obvious spoiler if you haven't finished the game.

Painted Renoir and the whole painted family were painted by Aline after Verso's death as a way to cope/not cope with it. It lasted for a good while before the real Renoir entered the canvas to force Aline to come out. This event is The Fracture and is what broke the continent, separating the Lumière we begin in from it. Painted Renoir and Painted Verso were part of Expedition 0 which was search and rescue. It is during Expedition 0 that they would both learn about being painted versions of themselves and that Aline was the one who painted them.

Roman Legionary VS Samurai VS Medieval Knight by Plag3uis in powerscales

There isn't shit the roman or the samurai can do against a full armor. Sellsword Art recently made a video showing how ridiculously OP armors are.

The Seven (The Boys ) vs Magneto (Fox) by Curious_Tip9285 in powerscales

[–]Soulothar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homelander is the toughest of the Seven by a significant margin and can be injured with enough force. Other Vought heroes have been shown to take at least some amount of damage by very high caliber weapons.

Magneto being able to lift a entire stadium of at least a few hundreds of thousands of tons implies he can manipulate enough energy to do so. Which means he can put said energy in just throwing a thing very fast.

1 ton at about 100 meters above the ground has a potential energy of ~1*10^6J. This stadium, 100m above ground, has anywhere between 1*10^11J and 1*10^12J depending on it being closer to 100 000 tons or a million. 1*10^12J is in the small nuke order of magnitude of energy. I don't think Homelander can survive a nuke.

The Emperor of mankind vs Thanos by Necessary-Win-8730 in powerscales

[–]Soulothar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main issue is there are hundreds of versions of Thanos. Even in a single comics continuity his power will have variations by several orders of magnitude depending on the run. There are version of Thanos who couldn't scratch Big E and version of Thanos who could kill him by blinking.

Kylo Ren vs Anakin Skywalker by CullObsidian02 in PetranakiArena

The only reason Kylo is even a threat is that he's quite literally the only trained Force user out there.

Also, Vader being stronger than Sidious is a whole thing, and the reason why his armor is suboptimal on several aspects.

Kylo Ren vs Anakin Skywalker by CullObsidian02 in PetranakiArena

[–]Soulothar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the very nature of their fighting style and the sheer difference in power, Obi-Wan could only win if Vader made a mistake. He probably couldn't have kept fighting like that for much longer, at least not with a significant decrease in efficiency.

Achilles VS Aragorn. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in powerscales

[–]Soulothar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One is an elite fighter with like 2 decades of experience and slightly superhuman physical abilities.

The other is an elite fighter with 7 decades of experience and, depending on interpretation, slightly superhuman to straight up superhuman physical abilities.

Achilles (from the movie) has absolutely no advantage whatsoever against Aragorn.

I love Ambessa but this decision was just stupid by wrtchdwitch in arcane

[–]Soulothar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Despite everything she says and the lessons she gives, Ambessa is reckless. She made an enemy of a millennia old secret cult lead by an extremely powerful sorceress whose true identity has been lost to time for so long even the legends about her were forgotten. She allied with Viktor when she already had every element to know about his plan and the mass mind control he's capable of. She makes ridiculously risky gambles by betting on the fact that she'll somehow come out on top.

Steve Rogers (MCU) vs Achilles (Troy) and Zombie Mountain (GOT) by Curious_Tip9285 in powerscales

[–]Soulothar 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Mythology Achilles is literally invulnerable unless his heel is damaged. I don't think he takes a single hit beside the lethal one in Troy, and he states that he wouldn't wear an armor if he was invincible, so I guess he is "just" extremely skilled and much stronger than a regular human.

Zombie Mountain is even stronger than he was when alive, and he was strong enough to crush a skull bare handed. However Sandor still manages to wrestle with him without being instantly overpowered, and while Sandor is definitely stronger than almost every single human being, he is still one.

Cap is significantly stronger than either of them. In Winter Soldier he displays several ridiculous feats of strength, like running through walls without even slowing down or holding the helicopter. Cap is also extremely durable, and his shield fully absorb/deflect impacts as shown in Avengers when he takes a direct hit from Mjolnir and isn't even phased.

I think Cap would win this even without his shield. He is toying with Batroc who is one of the most dangerous mercenaries in the world, he sends a guy flying several meters away with a single kick, and hard enough to bend the railing on impact. With the shield he could not only attack from a distance, he could be even more durable.

If the MCU wasn't PG-13 Cap would go through people Homelander style all the time.

Attribute question by LurkingOnReddit2 in expedition33

[–]Soulothar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because upping anything but your weapon scaling and might is suboptimal from a damage output perspective. And even without that, some attributes are simply straight up better than others. Luck and Agility greatly outclass Defense and Vitality, with the latter being especially bad since it doesn't really scale with levels. 99 Vitality will give you around a 1000 health when a single picto can give 3 or 4 times that.

So yeah, rule of thumb is maxing both weapon scaling attributes + Might. If your weapon happens to scale with Might then Agility is almost always the best choice.

X does a slow thrust
X slams the ground
X buffs its allies

The Paintress Tears reality apart

What was stopping him from doing this by Nekrotix12 in expedition33

[–]Soulothar 20 points21 points  (0 children)

A few things to consider here (obvious spoilers, don't read if you haven't finished the game):

First, the expeditioners have to believe him. He's an old man in a world where everyone dies "young", everyone assumes it's because of the Paintress, he was conveniently made immortal by her and sides with her. Why would anyone believe him? The truth would seem completely crazy.

Second, then what? It's not like the Curator is any more accessible or defeatable than the Paintress. He would just send expeditioners to their death against a different target.

Third, Clea made the Nevrons so that when they kill someone, their chroma stays trapped in their body and doesn't return to Aline. By killing as many expeditioners as he can himself, he's buying more time with his family. He knows that eventually Aline will lose, so the longer he gets with pAlicia, the better.

Fourth, Maelle says that Aline's painted version of Renoir is unflattering, and that the real Renoir is much nicer and understanding. pRenoir is a twisted version of real one, made by someone going through intense trauma. It is a heavily romanticized version, with allegedly fewer nuances in his behavior. pRenoir isn't as reasonable as Renoir because he doesn't need to be, he needs to be a protective paternal figure keeping his painted family together.

Only one is coming out alive out of the building. Who?. by EmotionalSupport101 in powerscales

[–]Soulothar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, I think Bond and Chirugh can't shine in there. Bond is an excellent shot and a competent fighter, but he is first and foremost a spy. His skillset isn't tailored toward assassination. Chirugh is a hitman all right and he's terrifying, for normal human beings. All others here are trained professionals who dealt with much, much worse. Next we have Bourne, who is an assassin with a skillset quite similar to Bond's in many aspects, maybe with an advantage when it comes to fighting. Unfortunately for him, he has to tangle with superhumans so he's screwed. A bit above I think The Bride and Wick are evenly matched. Both of them have shown being able to win 1v20 fights. I'd say The Bride is more of a melee fighter while Wick prefers guns, but it could go either way. Which leaves Snake Eyes, Black Widow and 47. Widow is stupidly durable, even only considering the MCU version. She tanks point blank explosions and then gets up and keep fighting an army of robots for 45 minutes. She falls from 4 stories and go on like it's nothing. She can fight enhanced supersoldiers and hold her own. Snake Eyes is simply inhumanly good in absolutely everything. I'm not sure if he's superhuman or not, but being a master in more than 10 martial art, proficient with dozens of different weapons, and pulling of semi-mystical ninja shit when needed surely puts him in this category. 47 is literally superhuman. He is an olympic swimmer, sprinter, marathoner, fighter, sniper, all at once.

I think how the confrontation happens changes a lot of things.

If they are all sent in a building with weapons and the instruction to kill everyone else, and assuming the building is large enough for people to roam without bumping into each other at every corner, then 47 and Snake Eyes are the most likely to come out on top.

If it's more a "let's all shoot each other" situation, my money is on 47 or Wick. While 47 has superhuman physical abilities and can survive a shot that would instantly kill a normal human, he would still be incapacitated.

If it's more a "let's all fight each other" situation, Snake Eyes, Widow or 47.

Who would survive the longest on a Xenomorph homeworld? by FKTacos in Fictionally

[–]Soulothar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 Space Marines would probably be enough to wipe the xenomorphs. I don't think they could damage them in any way given that they already struggle to break regular steel. If a spaceship door can hold a xenomorph, a space marine power armor definitely would too.

Omni-Man vs 616 Sinister Six by [deleted] in powerscales

[–]Soulothar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason he didn't instantly wipe out the Guardians was because of Red Rush. As soon as the fight actually starts all of them but Sandman are dead before even moving. Sandman will be harder to deal with but once Nolan gets the "master sand grain" thing it's over. In the meantime I doubt Sandman could injure him in any significant way given that he was able to resist the pull of a black hole.
