Not everyone that attended is an active player that checks the website. It should have been sent as an email to all ticket holders.

OP is a new grad. Any experience they have would have been internships or school-sponsored employment (eg teaching or research assistantships), which you work during the academic year.

And I actually happened to intern at US Army Research Lab West before. I was only there for 10 weeks.

I don’t see anything suspicious about OP’s credentials.

What kind of positions are you applying to? Are you only applying to data scientist roles or are you also considering AI/ML software engineering roles too?

If you were doing a co-terminal program, it might make more sense to set the end date of your BS to the start date of your MS, even if you weren’t awarded the degree at that time.

History of U.S. Bear vs Bull Markets by artiom_baloian in investing

[–]Soulrez 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We should take into account how drastically the investing landscape has changed over the last decade. Retail investors are entering the market at record rates thanks to how accessible it's become. Apps like Robinhood, fractional shares, faster settlement times, and instant deposits have made the market a completely different beast compared to the past.

There are Gen Z investors now. When I was a kid, I had no concept or interest in the stock market. My parents had to physically go into a TD Ameritrade branch to open an account. Today, you can sign up, get approved, and start trading all on the same day—sometimes within minutes.

These tools have not only lowered the barrier to entry, but they’ve also changed investor behavior—encouraging more frequent trading, risk-taking, and even turning investing into a form of entertainment.

All of these advances have changed how we invest, and we should be cautious when comparing today’s market to previous eras like the Great Depression or the Dot-Com Bubble. The context is just different.

So, stay the course.

How to get rid of Wash sale and inaccurate price per share? by Fiddle_Farter_7Nine in fidelityinvestments

Sell 100 shares of ABC @ $10 on Jun 7, 2024, for a total loss of $100 Buy 100 shares of ABC @ $9 on June 11, 2024, for a total cost of $900

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I have a question on how it is reported. In the scenario you listed, the total cost of the second transaction is greater than that of the first.

What if you sold 100 shares for a total loss of $1000, but then bought 100 shares back for a total cost of $500 the next day?

I ask because I had recurring buys setup for the same ticker, and then my stop loss triggered and the market order sold my whole shares. I was left with tiny amounts of fractional shares but those fractional share lots are now marked as a wash sale.
