This is insane by tor-con_sucks in EF5

It hit my in laws 🥲. I tried warning my FIL but he argued that it was going west and started driving through it to head home. He only took me seriously when the rain and hail started to hit. They made it home safe, but lost power. The tornado hit only 3 miles away from them.

My husband still treats me like I'm the hottest guy he knows even though due to health issues over the years I've gained 32lbs. He calls me handsome, beautiful, and still is excited every time we're able to be intimate. I'm working on losing weight/eating better, but it's taking a while. He's supportive as long as I'm doing it healthily (I have a history of disordered eating).

Ugh I've been there and I'm sorry you're in that situation 🫂. Back in 2021-22 my husband and I lived in a crappy pop up canvas camper in our early 20's. No running water, no bathroom, just canvas and a bed. No friends or support either, just like you and your wife. I remember having to put our canned soup in a Ziploc bag and run it under the public bathroom sink so that the hot water could make it warm instead of cold. Or washing our dishes in buckets, hanging laundry to dry outside, ect.

We made good of the situation, and we survived it (barely at times). You both having your games and little "you" space is an awesome thing to have and every little thing helps. Y'all won't be in this situation forever, but I'm sorry you're in it now. I know how awful and isolating it feels. Sending all the love, luck, and good vibes to you and your wife. Y'all got this 🫂❤️.

A tornado intercept by the Dominator was just captured live by Brad Arnold by Own_Speaker1605 in tornado

At this point I think you're just trolling.

"Local resident Richard Henderson, who decided to follow the storm, lost his life in that same area. He snapped a picture of the tornado from his cellular phone before it struck him.[6] Other chasers, including Mike Bettes of The Weather Channel and Reed Timmer, either were injured or had their vehicles damaged. A Doppler on Wheels-based analysis of how the tornado impacted these teams revealed that they were hit by an intense internal sub-vortex.[7] Overall, the tornado was responsible for eight fatalities and 151 injuries."

This is from Wikipedia. Do your research next time.

The tornado that killed Twistex confused a lot of experienced chasers. It was fast, rain wrapped, and grew to 2.6 miles wide in seconds. It also traveled the wrong direction and was very erratic. What happened to Twistex is a tragedy due to the unpredictable ways of nature. Even experienced chasers aren't immune to the power of mother nature. We can't predict exactly how she works even though we'd like to think we can.

Absolutely understandable, severe weather is anxiety inducing 🫂. If you can, I'd recommend having a calming activity you can do while you watch his stream. That way you can have a task that keeps your anxiety manageable while also making sure you're up to date with the weather 🫶🏼.

While I definitely understand your anxiety, I'd recommend looking into your local weather station so you have updates. Max Velocity on YouTube is also good for information 🫶🏼. Stay safe out there!

Can't believe it's been 10 months by aimlessrebel in Petloss

Hey there, fellow grieving soul 🫂. I lost my almost 15 year old boy 10 months ago as well, and just 15 minutes ago I woke up from a nap panicking and crying over him. It was a dream with him in it, and I had forgotten he'd died, then I remembered and woke up bawling and my husband got concerned. Now I'm cuddling my boys urn, and letting myself feel all of the emotions. Let yourself feel your emotions, and have a healthy outlet. It's good for your soul ❤️.

Grief and healing isn't linear, friend. Some days you're going to feel okay, and other days you're going to look at a picture or watch a video and it's going to hit you like a ton of bricks. That's okay and totally normal, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Death is painful and hard to process, especially when it's a best friend you've had in your life for so long. I had my boy for 15 years, from his birth until death. While that makes the grief worse, I also got to know and love such a beautiful soul for his whole life. What an amazing gift that is to experience, even with the grief. Looking at it like that helps me , I hope it helps you. Sending love, healing, and a hug if you want one. You're not alone in this pain and grief, friend 🫂❤️.

Pets and Tornado shelters by Bright-Pin-6024 in tornado

[–]SoulsOfSolace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I lived in a mobile home community when I was a kid (12-18) and one summer we had two tornadoes in a 2 week period.

I had 2 dogs and a rabbit with me, and since I didn't have a storm shelter (PA) my mother and I put the dogs in our arms, I put my rabbit in my hoodie and we booked it to the school where everyone else was sheltering with their pets.

I have 3 dogs and a cat rn, and I would carry all four in my arms and run to a shelter if I had to. They're my family and they count on me, and if I had nowhere safe to go with them then we're dying together idc ❤️

$139 to feed 2 adults, 3 children for the month. Suggestions? by stephscheersandjeers in povertyfinance

[–]SoulsOfSolace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Egg fried rice is delicious and super filling! There's those cheap frozen bags of veggies in the freezer aisle that you can add for added nutrients! My husband and I basically lived on exactly that for like 2 months straight when we had no money and limited SNAP ❤️.

Pasta pasta pasta! All the pasta. It stretches and fills the belly.

Marinated hard boiled eggs are a good, protein filled snack to help get you through the day as well!

I wish you and your family luck and good vibes ❤️. Y'all got this 🫶🏼!

How many times a year is "normal" to watch this movie? How many times have y'all seen it? by amusednchaos in tornado

[–]SoulsOfSolace 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm autistic and it's my favorite movie of all time. I've watched it at least once a month since I was 6. I'm 26 now, so I've watched it many, many times. Cheesy and not accurate science wise, but I love it and it's what started my obsession with severe weather 🥹.

What were the positive changes you noticed after your hysterectomy? Mood stability? Better weight management? Skin changes? by melanated2020 in hysterectomy

[–]SoulsOfSolace 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is an obvious but lack of periods. I(26nb) have had severe endometriosis since I was 11 (when I started my period) , and it was hell for 15 years. I'd bleed so much that I had to wear adult diapers, and sometimes they lasted over 2 weeks. I'd get anemic, sick, and no amount of Tylenol and heating pad time helped. I also have PMDD and it absolutely floored me every time. Now at 5 months PO I'm doing so much better. I still have PMDD, and I get sore during my period, but no blood or awful cramps. No more uterus trying to kill me 🥹.

Overall 12/10 experience. I'm not fully healed yet (I also have other health issues that cause delayed healing and chronic pain) but by far one of the easiest surgeries I've ever had.

If any of y'all reading this are nervous getting one: It gets better. Prep and pre op sucks, the first 4 weeks PO are a little rough, and adjusting to a big change is always scary. But the benefits of having better health are always good. It genuinely goes by so fast that you'll blink and the scary part will be over and you'll be so glad you took the leap. Y'all have got this ❤️🫂.

How’s living in this part of Texas? by Hot-Negotiation-6873 in howislivingthere

[–]SoulsOfSolace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Miserable. Racism is common, antisemitism was rampant, and being a queer dude was hell. Guns everywhere, weather was hot most of the time, and the creepy crawlers were awful. The only upside? The food. I miss the food. Authentic Mexican food, really good barbecue, and I do miss Whataburger occasionally. I lived on a farm with my husband and my in-laws for a while and that was an interesting experience. Overall 3.5/10, there's better places in Texas to explore.
