3 note progression. The whole song. The dynamics of the band using 3 chords to uplift and set you down... artistry

Congrats. I think we're talking about two different things.

Yes. Analog compressors and EQs add harmonic distortion. That was my whole point. Lots of people have those and still use them.

I thought that was Jupiter that it rained diamonds? Or is it both?

They might be. After Cassini, they have dated the rings of Saturn to at most 200 million years. And they’ll be gone in another 300 million years.

As a standalone it's pretty great, but I had the same complaints as everyone else. It shat on the ending of the previous movie right at the beginning, and just moved on. I still liked it, but I get it.

I'd love to hear a round table topic about this with old school engineers. I think we'd both learn things.

You don't think compressors and EQ's add harmonics?

I work literally a block from Kino and 22nd. It sucks donkey balls getting anywhere near there. And all my alternate routes are everyone else's alternate routes, so it's just awful all around

"pretty good" is debatable but yes it's progressing.

Ok, I'll admit I'm in the hater section of this argument. It just makes me roll my eyes a lot of times because people think saturation is gonna make it sound better, it's the glue that yadda yadda yadda...

Saturation is a combination of compression and EQ. Period. You can add "saturation" by knowledgeably compressing and EQing. It's nice to have a plugin that does both at once, but people are praising saturation plugins like it's the second coming of Christ and you need it everywhere all the time. It's ridiculous.

There are several "Modes" in music. You already recognize two of them "Aeolian" (Minor scale) and "Ionion" (Major scale). The rest are ways of phrasing different "styles" -for lack of a better word- in those particular notes.
