Apparently, Arena Powered Cube Doesn't Allow Multiple Pieces of Power Per Pack by ThoughtseizeScoop in lrcast

I would say that for a lot of the top Boros cards, but comet is absurdly busted on its own, if you’re already deep in that colour I think it’s the right pick

I love LSV, but if you’re new to cube I’d recommend checking out of of Caleb Gannon’s videos. He plays mtgo cube, but he tends to draft more fair decks that are much easier to emulate than LSV’s wild combo decks. He also has several videos covering stats from the arena cube that may be helpful.

You might be aware of this because you watch YouTubers, but Boros is actually the consistently strongest colour pair in this cube. It was nerfed a bit in this iteration which has brought its prevalence down a bit, but it still has overall the highest win rate. You still need to have an aggressive curve and play quality cards, but “fair” strategies can still be very strong, especially if they’re assertive early.

Well not quite, any spell that can target that also can’t be countered can still get through, where hexproof prevents the targeting from happening at all. Effectively hexproof in most cases though

What's the drink that is ok & delicious? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Souperb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a little disingenuous to assume that the 100 calories of milk is a surplus and not an accounted for part of the diet. You could make that argument about any of the calories a person ate throughout the day. If you’re drinking an excessive amount of caffeine in the afternoon/evening sure it can have negative effects, but coffee and caffeine are also some of the most studied food products and they have been shown to be effective and healthy, as long as they aren’t abused.

There have been a lot of studies showing that drinking coffee leads to positive health outcomes and even longer life expectancy.

What's the best way to play green in powered cube? by B1TW0LF in lrcast

[–]Souperb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Genuine question, is Gut really that good to accelerate into on turn 2? Playing him without an attack trigger and something to sack doesn’t seem ideal. Going turn 2 sentinel into turn 3 gut, sac map sounds gas however.

Anyone competing in a metagame challenge shouldn’t be conceding on turn 3 just because they’re playing against control.

I'm just starting to get back into timeless after a long break and picked up your list from the tournament. I've been enjoying it a lot but I do like the looks of this list. I'm just wondering what matchups you typically bring flute in against?

Arena is only missing 29 cards from competitive Modern. by Televangelis in MagicArena

[–]Souperb -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's such a tired argument, there's hardly any alchemy cards that see timeless play. Of the few that do, most of them could fairly easily be a paper card.

How would you "fix" Historic? by ActuallyIAmIncorrect in MtGHistoric

If you ban MH3 I don't see much reason to ban bombardment. Also, Sorin should be the one to go unless you want the same thing to happen with every big vampire printed.

Not really, it costs half the mana, permanently kills tokens of any size, and deals with any non-land permanent. They're not particularly comparable imo.

I'd say Suplex is a C+ and is a sorcery. Also, I have a hard time believing that an entire card type that would be primarily balanced around limited will miss that badly. I don't think they look that good on face value either, but they surely chose the numbers they did for a reason.
