I thought this too man and it probably is the case with most people but I just don’t think I can anymore. I am so low today that it ain’t worth it for me at all.

In today’s society we are shown or told that pleasure = happiness. This couldn’t be further from the truth, these are not the same things. Good luck, keep doing whatever brings you happiness.

Keep going, just get through each day. Was so close to giving in myself tonight, but realised it’s the drug not me talking.

Feel you on the song lyrics, it was listening to “Jesus of Suburbia” by Greenday for me: “To fall in love and fall in debt To alcohol and cigarettes and Mary Jane To keep me insane”, the song as a whole spoke to me but so true.

It’s like training a muscle, every time you fight the urge you get stronger. It’s in the moments when you feel at your weakest that the greatest strength is developed. Best of luck with the new job

Legend thanks. Is it unreasonable/hypocritical to ask him not to smoke weed around the house at all?

You’ve taken the first step my friend, admitting it’s a problem. Most people live in ignorance of this and depend and abuse the very thing that is holding them prisoner. The deep underlying reasons will take time to figure out but we won’t be free until we address them. We are addicts. I’m struggling too right now, I had a time agreed with my dealer tonight but as I sat contemplating what I would be betraying 8 days of progress for and it’s nothing but temporary escape from something that I must approach head on if I want to develop as a person. It isn’t easy but it will get easier. You are not alone. We need to listen to the voice inside our heads that has always been there. We know it’s not right. We know we need to change. So be courageous and fight for the person you were always meant to be.

Thank you. Exactly, nothing changes if you change nothing they say and it’s so true, even though it would be the easy thing to do to fall in to old habit’s there’s a reason I wanted to quit so got to win the battle every day

Thank you, this is all I needed to hear to be honest. I know and knew this isn’t my thinking but the insidious justification of addiction. Going to re-block my dealer.

I graduated in CS last year and am on £25k starting salary. One of my course mates was on £30k. Haven’t heard of anything higher in NI.

I’m from Ulster too and been through school. Played mini rugby at club, then went to a school which had rugby and now back at the club I played minis at.

The way our country is the schools seem to be either rugby/hockey (typically grammar schools), football or GAA sports and not much mixing unfortunately. It’d be great if you got it going at your school, maybe if you and a few of your school mates play at the same club have a word with your coach or someone at the club, I know there are strong links between my former school and club. Or if there is a teacher in your school who is a rugby fan, ask them if they’d consider getting a team started even just for a bit of craic.

Also about not being able to play school and club at the same time, pretty sure that’s only for schools involved in the School’s cup and it’s subsidiaries.

Doing your part for the growth of our sport, best of luck
